Ok, without going into too much detail because I don't want this post to come across as an "ad" for anything because it's not... but I'm considering building a system that would post articles (plus 1-2 links per article) to "websites" we have partial control of. These are NOT blogs. It's not a blog network. These are actual websites built by a custom website creation system/tool developed by a high level person not directly involved in the "internet marketing" niche, per say. It would be the very closest you could get to someone randomly adding a link pointing to your site just because they like you're website.

These websites are in need of GREAT content. Not spun content. Not thinly disguised content with the sole purpose of getting a couple links. These websites need REAL content, and they're willing to allow their "authors" to post a link to their website within the article IF the article/content is GREAT.

The article/content wouldn't be auto-posted to these websites. It would be manually reviewed to make sure it's well written. It would also be copyscape checked to verify it's not copied from elsewhere.

The system wouldn't build MASSIVE amounts of links. It would create GOOD links from real websites. It would simply be another way of diversifying your link building.

My question is, if I developed something like this, do you think people in the IM world would realize and see the benefit OR do you think it would appear like too much work for someone to do in order to get 1 link?

This wouldn't be a system that I would/could hype up because, let's face it, the general population likes to hear that something will get them 100 billion links in 10 seconds... and not something that will get them 1 or 2 links for each REALLY GOOD article they write.

Would the system help with rankings? I haven't tested it, but based on everything I know, I would say absolutely, given these are all real websites owned by real people.

Thoughts?

If you're referring to guest posting, I think there are quite a few of those already, MyBlogGuest, BloggerLinkUp, Haro to name a few.

Sounds like a private blog network, as much as you may think it is not...

Based on the responses here, I think my question is answered and this will be used by myself and won't be made a public resource.

    Thanks

Some of us "get it." There's a big difference between a spammed blog network and a tightly controlled and managed website. Penguin Fear has paralyzed people.

So its a high quality blog network. Once you start charging people to place their articles its a network. If you'd rather not call it a blog network, then call it a website network. Whatever makes you feel better about it.
