    They can do a ton of things after hacking your site. A couple of the most common ones are...

    They could change your affiliate links or AdSense links to their own. If they are smart, they actually will install a script that rotates the links, so they just steal a small percentage of the clicks that will probably go unnoticed. If they just replace the code, anyone monitoring their stats will notice eventually that they are getting traffic, but zero conversions. So the smart hackers just take a small slice of the clicks. Think of it like the scam they came up with in the movie Office Space.

    They could add hidden links on your page in the footer or elsewhere. This helps to boost their site, while probably hurting your rankings, especially if they link out to porn or sites promoting illegal activities.
