Need some reviews on these keywords

Hi Warriors,

I am new to IM, so i need your help here. I have researched few keywords for my next project still i am confused little bit so i would appreciate if you guys help me out here:

I have chosen two keywords finally and here is the data for both:




I have checked these keywords with AW tools

Keyword 1 has total 9900 USA monthly search with CPC $1.31 according to AW contextual targeting tool which i think provide almost accurate CPC for the keyword. It also have few long tail keywords with 1000+ monthly search and having CPC around $2.

Keyword 2 has total 6600 USA monthly search wit CPC $2.45 according to AW contextual targeting tool.

I have attached SEO competition result which i checked with Market samurai for both the keywords.
Both the keywords are evergreen i checked it with google trend and insight both showing it evergreen. both have lots of ads available for exact keyword.

I also checked both keywords with KCC according to this:

Average Page Authority of Top Ten Sites for the keyword 1 is: 45 which comes in red zone according to the tool.

Average Page Authority of Top Ten Sites for the keyword 2 is: 44 which comes in yellow zone according to the tool.

For both the keywords 85-90% EMD is available with .com
  • I want few expert comments if i should go with these keywords or not?
  • If yes which would be the best?
  • which can be ranked in top 3 results with less SEO effort?

Sorry to make this so long, Some senior warriors please share your expert comments on this and help me out.

    The keywords seem easy enough.

    I could see myself getting #1 for both keywords rather easily so if that's what you're worried about don't worry about it.

    What I would go over though is the potential for profit for these keywords.

    Do you plan on monetizing with Adsense? If so here's the revenue you can expect

    Keyword 1:

    If you reach #1 you'll be getting roughly 70% of the visitors who search the keyword

    So that puts Projected Monthly Hits for that keyword at 6930

    Let's say you convert at 7% which is pretty damn good

    That's just about 485 clicks per month

    With a CPC of $1.31 you'll get around 40%-50% of that amount per click (Remember Google Takes some as well)

    So you'll get around $0.65 cents per click

    So that keyword will be bringing you close to $320.00 a month if all goes to plan!





    Keyword 2:

    70% of 6600 is 4620 so that's the average monthly traffic you can expect

    Let's say you convert at 7% once again

    That's 323 clicks per month

    The CPC is $2.45 and you'll still be getting around 40%-50% of that which is 1.22 per click

    So you can expect to make around $394.00 a month with that specific keyword.

    So the keywords are easy enough but is the profit worth it to you?

      Thanks for you suggestion,

      As you stated i should expect 40-50% of the shown CPC, shouldn't it be 68%

      so in this case CPC is $2.45 so i should get 2.45*0.68= $1.66.

      because i am getting around 68% of the stated CPC in contextual targeting tool for one of my keyword.

      Please correct me if i am wrong here.

        68% on content yes! but you can't expect to constantly get clicks at that Value

        Some will be a lot lower and few will be more

      Hey! How do you know looking at the tables that the keywords are easy enough to rank for? What kind of ranking methods would you use to put your sites in spot 1 for both keywords? Thanks!

    Very interesting post. I have been looking at some keywords with a similar level of competition to your second keyword, but as a newcomer thought it might be too difficult to get into the #1 spot.

    Sovereignn, or anyone else, I don't suppose you could offer me a little insight into why you feel that Keyword 2 would be possible to rank high for, as I don't think I fully understand which of they criteria are most heavily weighted. For example, the current top rank looks strong in the external factors but is also optimised fairly well? This would be a huge help to me.
