Hey guys,

Trying to get started in I'M through Amazon affiliates and I was wondering if anyone had reccomendations for domain registrars and web hosts.

Is it possible to buy one large hosting plan and host multiple domains on it? Or do I have to buy individual hosting for each website?

Thanks!

    Hi "cantinaband":

You can buy a hosting plan a Host Gator called the Baby Plan and put UNlimited domains on it.

GoDaddy for domains is what I use and is great. Others have also complimented the top notch support.

Good luck with your internet marketing "career." It IS fun.

If you've never signed up for HostGator, I have a step by step guide on how to sign up. It was to help offline clients sign up with a coupon inside.

Just use the contact form on http://GainFinancialFreedom.org if you can't PM me in here.

      Thanks guys!

I'm looking at hostgator now and I was just wondering if I should get the 1 year or 3 year plan.
Trying to get my feet wet in IM but a little scared of failure. Is it worth it to go for the 3 year commitment or just stick with 1?

Yes, many web host offer reseller hosting and vps hosting plans where you can host more than one domain name on same web hosting package.

GoDaddy is the king in domain registration. No matter what you but it just impossible to avoid that.

I've heard bad things about GoDaddy in the past though. Anyone have bad experiences with their affiliate sites?

Godaddy for domain registrations is fine not for web hosting. Your question about signing up for 1 or 3 years with HostGator, I say do the 3 years to save more money. If for some reason you decided you didn't want to host your websites with them any longer or no longer need your plan you can get a pro-rated refund for the time remaining on your account.

yes, I bought a domain from godaddy and pointed to my hostgator hosting.but if you want convenience you can just buy one package. but if you want to have many domains i think namecheap is a good place to purchase cheap domain.

My complaint about godaddy is they won't let you transfer your domain for 60 days. Not sure the logic behind this, but from a business standpoint on their part, it ruthless.

Godaddy has been known to suspend/take away domains as they wish.

You should try a safer registrar such as internetbs, Gandi or namecheap. Gandi is the most expensive. If you're going for any single one, I would recommend namecheap, but internetbs does have free whois privacy so you may want to go that way.

As for hosting, I have found the best provider to be stablehost. Companies like hostgator are much more expensive but provide essentially the same thing.

    Registrars:

GoDaddy is fine. I don't like that they inundate you with offers for extra stuff. Just make sure to always use a coupon and sign up at FatWallet.com to get a cash back on all of your purchases.

I currently use internet.bs which includes free private WhoIs.

    Hosting:

Hostgator is fine. I use Servint.net and have a vps account with them.

I'm using meccahosting.com for web hosting. Their prices are reasonable and they have WebDAV which is rare for a low priced hosting service. I don't know about their email service as I use Google Apps for email.

If you want to build a lot of websites or to experiment, I suggest :
Buy your domain names at QSDnet ($1.99 for a .info domain)
Build unlimited sites at hosting24, easily on tons of platforms and CMS!
