Since google has updated with panda and penguin, they ruled out low quality backlinks. I was wondering if there is a systematic way to make a website rank lower, so essentially give it negative SEO.

Please post any ideas here and also how to protect from negative seo, thanks for your time.

Yes there is. I tested it. You can do this by altering link velocity. You can blast tens of thousands of profile links, ping all at once, and just stop. Google sees unnatural growth and sees no more growth to back it up.

The best way to prevent negative seo from happening to you is to produce sure you have a solid SEO foundation in place and to continually monitor ranking metrics so you are alert of any suspicious activities.

I wouldn't try and concentrate on targeting a website to make it rank lower, it's unethical. Just imagine if someone did that to you after hundreds of hours and cash spent trying to rank in that position.

Best off sticking to your own whitehat techniques and building a quality SEO foundation on your own website and ranking in the serps legitimately.

I agree. Karma-what goes around comes around. If you do this to someone it could come back to you in a worse way.

That makes sense, I can see that submitting good quality backlinks like article and directory submissions would have a sticking effect.

I don't plan on testing this out on some poor guy who has worked hard, I am going to do this to a spare domain. I am a hands on learner so I learn by doing. Once I've done it once then I'm set and the curiosity is gone

Be careful though. I bet all the article directory sites marked by Google since Google knows they are being targeted by all IMers and SEO companies. It is much more than just stick factor now. SEO became harder to master since you gotta unpeel all the old knowledge and garbage floating around in the internet.

I personally didn't have much success with AMR and SeNuke while I was testing them. It worked for low level competition keywords for awhile. If you think about it, you are creating backlinks from the same sites over and over again. There is no unique IP growth over time and they accept garbage spun articles.

I'm not a fan of senuke, i found that sick submitter works better. Thats just my opinion though, im sure senuke could be fine under the right conditions.

Also, I never submit copied articles. I lightly spin articles that I have outsourced or wrote by myself.

I'm going to get xrumer and try your original idea for the negative seo, i'm sure i could figure something out.

Traffic monitoring is very important but there are many other factors also. The most important thing is the content of the website.Content should be relevant and unique and the Back links created must be of high quality not the spam links.

Instead of negative SEO'ng the competition, why not build your own brand up?

Quit trying to screw the next guy and putting your energy into these "negative" strategies...Chances are you'll help the guy rather than screwing up his rankings.

Tanking a site who is competing with you is completely unethical. But I would love to see some authority sites suffered a lot for unnatural link blasts to them by their competitors! Yes I would love to see it during next few months! Coz I hate to think that google is offering this opportunity to spammers and dishonest SEO/companies! So that Google might understand that they need to change their Algo immediately from tweaking authority sites.

Its unethical or illegal to make a website rank lower. Why would you make your website rank lower? you wouldn't isn't it? I suppose you are trying to do this to your competitors. But mark my words, once they find out that you have done it, that's it, you are screwed. So, just do some quality link building and you can just overtake your competitor in ranking.

I dont get it, you dont want to screw anyone over but you are wondering about negative seo?

Does this not make sense to anyone else? Figure out how to make your site better in SERPs not learn how to destroy sites.

The answer is spamming all at once. Gathering thousands of links and getting backlinks within a day or adding duplicant content only to the site, completely worthless junk and google hates you for it.
