Should I ditch my website?

Hey!

So I'm all new to the internet marketing world and money making world (on the internet, of course) and I had started a blog about weight loss and well, it isn't going well. I've only had it for one week and a half, but I still think it's pretty low to only get 10 unique visitors a day? I'm bad at SEO and I don't understand a thing about it (maybe there is a thread at this forum at basics? Please link it if you would be so kind) and the only thing of promotion I have done is commenting on other blogs in the related topic and installed plugins on wordpress like All-in-one SEO and Google Sitemap XML and such.

Please take a look at the website here: bit.ly/OXHkOz
I believe the domain name is great if I want to appear on the search "weight blog". Or is it? And what about the content? (My brother writes it and I translate it to english)

What do you think about the website overall?

I'm thinking about ditching the website and creating some micro niche sites some people claim are good to earn a couple of bucks, and start tens of them. I've also heard about authority sites, are they good? I'm also thinking about affiliate sales...

Oh well, what would you recommend to a noob in this world? Any guides?

- - P.S - Excuse me for my terrible english, I'm only sixteen years old and I'm a swede, so english is my second language.

Thanks!

well mate you have a good result for 1 week worth of work, keep writing the content and developing the site because it s going to take much longer than that to get any type of significant results in terms of IM. Find some link builders for you to start marketing the site and yes the domain is good for ranking for weight blog and would just need to see if its worth ranking for that or not because it might not get that much exact search volume each month. Check on google keyword tool, USA and [exact match] with the keyword and it will tell you how many people if its worth making the extra effort to rank there, as it would be easier for you to do so!

Otherwise you have tons of Clickbank affiliate products to promote for weight loss, as well as amazon which has great products also, and adsense will give you some income too, to mix it up and use as much as you can to diversify the income.

If you would like to research into your keywords and competition Id be happy to send you some details PM me, and youres only 16? thats awesome man, if I had started when I was 16 id have made a million online no problems!

I've been working on two sites for a couple years and digging them out of the hole - but you got to be patient and not give up...

Give it 3 more months with linking efforts and re-assess your thoughts then.

you could do with listing some references for what you say on your site. that would add credibility. where it says Research has shown why not hyperlink that to some useful info?

Hey..man.. there are number of guys sitting together for years waiting for hits and you get bored in 1.5 weeks. Patience is very important now a days..if you can't wait..you are missing your success. I appreciate that you are getting 10 unique visitors per day.. that is really a good start. Check for three months..may be you can score good. Don't give up without trying.

    Hello!

Oh, I didn't know that it would take longer time. I thought you'd see results overnight and therefore was thinking there was some kind of trouble with the site. It's not that I lack patience.

So I should only continue writing once a day or every other day and simply wait? What do you think of the ad placements? And last, but not least, I see some of you write about "link building", how is that done?

Thank you for your quick replies!

10 uniques after a week is a success for someone just starting out. It usually takes longer to get 300 visitors a month.

Your blog looks good and your article titles and quality looks good as well.

    Keep at it!

OP - did you notice an increase in visitors after posting here?

    I'll bet you did.

Go out and join in the discussion, just like you did here, but instead to it in weight loss related places, forums, facebook pages, twitter - you get the idea.

    Hey men!

So I got an Ezinearticle published and I have a lot more articles now (avg. 1 per day) and I still only get 1-2 unique visitor per day where one of them is me.... So only occasionally I get one viewer... What do you think is wrong? I have done some linking through comments.

    Thanks!

I see you made a facebook page.

Spice it up, add an image, add some posts, comments, images, etc.

Then go around to other facebook pages in the weight loss/ health niches and introduce yourself. Especially the ones with a lot of likes. These can be found by using the search bar and typing in keywords.

Like their pages and leave a comment like...
"Hello. My name is ... and I am the creator of The Weight Blog. My passion is also in health and weight loss and I have found your facebook page to be really nice. We are still a little new to facebook, I'm embarrassed to admit. But I hope to get acquainted with you.

    Sincerely,
    ...

You'll get a lot of visibility by posting on their pages and hopefully, they'll also like you back. Traffic from people who've liked and follow you on Facebook is great.

      Hey!

Thank you so much for this! I'm thinking about getting rid of my website because I've had some criticism on my writing skills in english which is true, I'm not that good at english so maybe I'll start making websites in my primary language.. But I'll give the website a couple of weeks or months and see how it goes. If I would decide not to keep the website, are there people actually paying for websites like that (articles and the domain even though there are not a lot of visitors?)..

      Thanks.
