Ressurecting an Old Site, Best Method? (Please Read!)

Basically, I have a site that my hosting option took down when they changed their ToS but I want to host it elsewhere and have a backups of all of the pages so that I can put it up again.

Here's the catch: This site was ranking well in google, but has obviously been dropped from SERPs after 3 weeks of not existing. SO I'm wondering if it's better to simply host the new site at the same URL and continue along as if nothing happened, or to get a new URL and simply 301 redirect the old address to it. Or maybe a third option I haven't thought of? What do you YOU suggest?

Thank you so much to anyone who answers in advance, it's tough losing a big chunk of your business like that but I'm determined to get back on my feet so any help is appreciated!

If your site has any brand value at all it would be best to stick to the same URL people are familiar with.

It does, but the name of the site is actually not in the url since I picked a keyword URL and a real "name" for the site stuck later on. I'm thinking of possibly combining the name and a keyword for a new url (they are very closely related). One thing I wonder about though is if all of the link power and age really is transferred when i forward or if it's not 100%

I would keep the same domain. Its not worth risking all the trust and power that comes from an aged domain. I know they say it transfers if you 301 redirect but I wouldn't take the risk.

You're probably right, thanks! Also, all of the content will be copy/pasted form the original so might as well be on the exact same URLs to avoid any confusion

It would save a lot of 301 redirects aswell.
