Hi,
I have big problem.
My site was always on the first page of Google for specific keyword.
Since the end of May it started losing position and it is on 60# place today.
I never used "black techniques", I do not know what is happening.
I got no message from Google Webmaster tool.
My page is 5 years old and in other (local) search engines is still on the 1st place.
Google simply ignores 5 MOST IMPORTANT pages including homepage.
What should I do?
Should I remove pages from GWT?
This website is website of our family company, so I am really upset...
Thank you for any advice.

There are many factors responsible for this sudden fall.
Its not necessary that only Black hat techniques applied sites get a drop in keywords,

    Below things can be considered:

    1. Keep day to day track of your keywords positions to understand trends, this is because google keeps on refreshing its database & your keywords can be again brought back to its original positions.

    2. Even if you are on No.1 for a particular keyword, you wont stay long until and unless that search result has good CTR. it has very LOW BOUNCE RATE, decent keyword relevancy on your page.

    3. Also imp..if you have your past backlink count, then compare it with your current count. if it show drop then definitely latest google updates have affected those sites where your site was listed, resulting in your keywords fall.

    4. Many more.

But do not worry, keep doing natural link building & other off page activities you will be surely rewarded.
    Thanks!

      Hi!
      Thank you very much!
I bought today access to ahref.com to know what is happenning.
I found out that at the end of May there is an increase of backlinks to our domain. This trend ends on 18.6. There are 300 more domains linked to our website, mainly from "website catalogues".
I did not do create these links.... negative seo?
Website is losing position since the end of May...it was #4, then #14, then #20... now is #60.

        Hi again,

I found very strange thing in XMAP. Some links are darker. These URL are the most important in the site and are NOT INDEXED by google in the last weeks (goole ignore them). Please, see the pic.
What does it mean? What should I do?
        Thank you!

Now I find something fishy here, I think that these 300 unknown backlinks are created by someone connected / related with your site, you must check out if anyone of your seo people have just tried using AUTOMATED directory submission software. Because this can bring huge spike & alert google about spamming, also there may be a case where some of your competitor has submitted it via Automated software resulting in drop.

Now, the best thing we can do is first send such unknown backlink removal request to that site. Once all is done start building good backlinks -natural .

Again do not panic! and do not submit this to Google for reconsideration until & unless you have received any spamming mail from Google team in your webmaster tool.

I already sent the request to cancel the link, but no reaction...
Unfortunately I submitted it to Google
What do you think about this xmap and urls marked with different color?
          Another thing:
I read in this forum that dangerous is also having deadlin on the website.
I tried brokenlinkcheck and it found all URLS on the website as dead.
I was thinking for awhile and got this idea:
Google indexed my site without w w w.
When I try to check deadlinks on w w w mysite, it has plenty of deadlinks.
When I check it without w w w, it is ok.
          But all my internal/external links use w w w !!!
Can I have a problem here?

          Thank you for your opinions!

It is not important, what URL it exactly is.
Important is that some of the links appears with different color in Google webmaster tool,....

What does your anchor text for incoming backlinks look like? Do you have a variety of text links or very similar links coming in. That is important to know.

Don't be too worry, maybe it's just a little dance. Give it a week or so, to see whether the rank will jump back. One of my sites is drop 3 days ago, but its rank came back today.

Its clearly a negative SEO. If you haven't done the back links then your competitors did it and that's the reason your site is dropping.

Negative SEO or not, something needs to be done.
My opinion is that it's a mistake wasting a lot of time sending emails to 300 website owners in order to remove those backlinks.
This is clearly a Penguin penalty. You have to start building quality links in a natural way in order to recover from this. That way Google will know you are an authority and that you deserve to be ranked.

    I have a real case of after-Penguin recovery for a non-branded website.
Our strategy was to employ backlinks for inner pages and for the home page after the website started to recover, using these anchor texts:
    - main keywords for the URLs
    - semantic keywords (LSI)
    - brand keywords
    - brand keywords + main keywords
    - URL
    - natural anchor texts: "read full article", "visit website", "source" etc.

It took us more than one month to fully recover from the penalty. We added links only for inner pages and we started adding backlinks for the homepage (slowly) after the first month (when the website started to recover).
You need to be smart and to have some patience!

you should always go for white hat techniques. Normally it happens due to black hat.
