Hello warriors,

I have checked some sites for image optimization.

Some images ranking on the top are not optimized properly like missing like
  1. Missing alt tags
  2. name of the images are not user friendly.
  3. Missing title tag
  4. width and height not specified
In this case how the images are ranking on the top. I believe the page authority matters for image optimization too.

And for the keywords to be ranked we need quality backlinks.

And for image ?????

Waiting for your reply.

Share your thoughts what u guys feel.

Warm regards,

After observing what you said & checking it practically i found that site authority is also not the factor for image rankings,,there is a case where a wikipedia image result is behind a pr1 website image.
Also that site didn't followed any image optimization guidelines & still topped.

So what I can conclude is, Google has yet not set such practical parameters & not have implemented it with its algorithms.

But following a guidelines shall help in long run.

      Agree with you!

But I also found authority sites like wikipedia are still ranking on 1st position on image search.

So I believe there is no definite answer for image optimization.

        Dear Sivagopi,

Yes, image optimization guidelines are just released on Blogs, but this is still to be updated in Google Engines Algorithms!

Images will be automaticallly optimized if your website is ranking good in search engines.

As far as image optimization is concerned, I think it as another means of marketing. Sure you can marketing with articles, people search for information, but if you think people might be searching for an image, you can pretty much get traffic from google image if you optimize it earlier.
