How do I name a sitemap file?

Hi,

Do I have to specifically name my sitemap file as "sitemap" or it can be anything such as "sitemap_en" "sitemap.en" "sitemap-en" ?

example.com/sitemap.xml
example.com/sitemap_en.xml

Can I use either?

Can be anything that you want it to be as long as it's something.xml. Just make sure that if you name it anything different that when you submit it to Google you give the correct path. I'm not sure but I think Google defaults to sitemap.xml.
