What kind of strategy do you guys use with web 2.0's when you have a large review site for different products and want to rank the individual review pages? I'm trying to get some ideas of what works best from those who have had success doing it.

Thanks

    Hi,

I've been having the EXACT same problem recently and feel like I hit a huge wall within the past week. I've done tons of research and everything is very subjective.

I also asked this questions twice in the forums and has some good discussion but nothing extremely concrete

    Check it out:

What tough about review sites is...

With a review site, you have a ton of products and instead of having a webpage or website on one exact idea or topic

Ton of products = way harder to experiment with backlinking due to wasting time and money, to many factors involved with the amount of products
    What I've learned...

    • Fiverr backlinking gigs can get expensive (with review sites) and are dangerous.... why jeopardize it.
    • It's not 1000 crappy links in one day but 10 great links in 10 weeks.
    • When it comes to web 2.0 sites, write a few articles and put them on there with ONE backlink to your site, also do this for indivdual products
    • Don't just limit yourself to one style of linking - a great IMer once told me in terms of building backlinks that "Google is like a little kid that eats an ice cream sundae (your website). The sprinkles are your web 2.0 backlinks, the hot fudge is your article submissions, the crushed peanuts are your links on other niche websites and your forum signatures are the cherries on top. Well Google might like crushed nuts this week but next might get sick of them and want carmel instead. Or maybe a year down the road Google with become allergic to cherries and like jelly beans instead" See my point - build a link profile and dont focus on how many links but consistency in linking

    Also,

Figuring out what works for you may be totally different from someone else. Online help can be great but at the same time you may get 15 different answers from 15 equally successful IMers. If something is WORKING for you, don't let someone else change your mind no matter how successful they are.

Hope this helps, PM me and we'll share backlinking info

    J
