Fate of a 301 redirecter domain ?

So suppose i have a domain A and i redirect all its content to domain B.
Now , again after some period of time , i remove the 301 redirect towards B and start postings on A what will be the scenario like...If the nature of contents (niche) on A is similar (not copy) to B , will it again perform like before it was 301 redirect. ?
How that old domain is seen by search engines ?
