Insurance Directory - Agents and Brokers, Life Insurance, International Insurance

The first one is $8 and the second one is $20. Obviously, I have insurance websites. They are very reputable. All PR3 or PR4 and I have written all of the content and they rank well. The only paid directories I have used are Yahoo.

My main concern is if Google will slap me for using these paid directories (above).

Thanks for your help.

Both sites seem to be part of a network of insurance directories. When you see bulk packages like those offered on their submit pages, you know immediately it's not a directory you'd want to be in.

In addition, Several other crap directories are co-located on the same IPs as these directories.

I'd avoid them at all costs.

B-I-N-G-O! The ones mentioned in OP seem part of network hence no. There're however niche paid directories which are editorial in nature & hence perfectly legit.

Wow. I didn't realize how tough it really is out there. What about any paid directory submission? Are any of them any good.

The only directories I will pay for in 2012? Yahoo and maybe BOTW. Everything else seems too risky.

You really don't need to pay these directories for links. You can surely build links from lots of other better methods. Guest blogging is really a good way of building quality links. You should not waste your money on these directories.

I second that, guest blogging on good quality blogs is the way forward. Or press releases if you have the cash.

Thats easier said than done. If you aren't careful, your posts will end up on just another content farm or blog full of low quality guest posts. You usually need a portfolio or an audience to guest blog on any top blog.

Very true, but the effort is well worth it, plus as with every form of backlinking and self promotion, its all about doing your homework and making sure you avoid the pitfalls.

Thanks for the information. I assume that Business.com is reputable and right up there with Yahoo.

I don't think so that now Google support paid directories except Yahoo and other directories

Don't use any paid directory service to avoid the risk of penalty.

Personally, I think you'd be fine. Google are highly unlikely to penalize you for 2 directories. Both directories are related to your site, everyone is over cautious now after the penguin/panda updates.

It's very confusion here about paid directory vs. non-paid directory. One side google say that paid links are harmful for your website and other side it's give benefit paid link like yahoo. But I think yahoo directory is one of the best renowned directory having PR 7. Once you submit any website in them goes into moderation and checked by moderator before adding your website in database . Although other paid directory sites not moderating your site and give your website approval without checking their quality .
Personally, I suggest you that you don't get paid link, just build quality and theme related links to your website with other method like guest post, article submission and blog commenting.

Generally, bad paid directories that will accept nearly all sites as long as you pay the money will have a negative affect on your seo. However, sites like business.com, yahoo and BOTW that have a strict editorial process will have a positive impact on your seo
