Got Denied my first attempt with adsense due to lack of content on site. Why?

I am completely new to this, and have been trying to soak in as much information as possible over the past month or so. This forum, along with many other sites have helped out tremendously.
However, I have run into a bit of a dilemma. I have been going through the basics of getting hosting, starting a website, etc. for the past 2 or so weeks, and have a website up and running. I have 4 blog posts up, as well as some static pages. I thought this would be plenty since I have read that some people only put up one article and start using adsense asap. However, I just got an email from google denying my request due to a lack of content.

My website is myquitsmokingtimeline.net (sorry I would have made it a link but this is my first post. Not allowed.) I'm just starting out with this, so if theres any feedback on what I might want to do to get accepted by adsense it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if I am doing something wrong with SEO or something else that might be effecting this, please let me know. The articles are all written by me personally. I have not done much SEO however, so I am not close to the first page of google. maybe I want to work on this first?

Thanks for the input.

    The answer is in bold.

On a serious note, if your website is new, chances are you'll get rejected. If your site is "thin", chances are you'll get rejected.

People who put adsense on their one-page site are likely to have been accepted beforehand (applied using other website, for example)

There really isn't any point in applying for adsense until you start getting a little traffic anyway. You won't get clicks until you get traffic. Best to spend a few weeks getting to the first page of Google.

Get your site ranking well then put up adsense. Perhaps 10 pages or post and the usual, contact us, about and privacy pages.

Put 10 or more unique and quality contents (not copy paste from other site) to your site and then apply for adsense.
