Test To See If You Should Link Between Adsense Sites You Own...

Hey everyone,

Wanted to get everyone's thoughts on linking between adsense sites that you own.

Back in the day I used to tell people not to inter-link their adsense sites for two reasons:

1. It gives Google and the World a glimpse of your footprint
2. Google might consider it a spammy link wheel

But now I'm not sure. After Penguin, it's hard to say what's right or wrong anymore.

I'm running a test to find out. I just built 500 websites (with .info domains) over the last couple of days and I interlinked all of them.

What I did was break the 500 sites into blocks of 50 links, then wrote a little php code to randomly select one of the 50 blocks of links and show it on the main page of each of those sites.

Every time you hit reload on your browser, a new set of 50 links appears.

Google will probably think it's spam, but we'll see.

Does anyone else have any hard data on linking between adsense sites? Especially post penguin??

If all the 500 sites are in the same niche it shouldn't be a problem I think, but this way seems a bit risky, never tried it myself, should be interesting to see how it works out.

I wouldn't do it myself btw, and those cheap .info's sure won't do it any good either but I think that's just a side thing.

Yeah, most of the sites are not in related niches...

And I've always used .info domains to great success, so I'm not worried about that part. I bought this group of 500 when godaddy was running a $.67 info sale, so I won't be out a ton of money if Google de-indexes all of them. So we'll see!

I put the same spun 300 word article on each page...it auto spins every time the page loads. There's also a phpzon widget that throws out 12 amazon product links with images, a youtube widget that pulls up half a dozen small video clips tailored to each page, and also a twitter stream...

Oh, and on 100 of the pages I put the exact same 300 word article that ISN'T spun in the spot where the spun text would normally go...sort of a test within the test.

I don't spin articles, but I do something very similar with php. I'm interested to see any results you get from that specific test.

I've tested something similar to spinning on page reload, only on a single +1,000 page site/domain.

IMO, the most important part is to keep the domains/pages grouped & laser focused on a single subject.

I think you'll get better results If you group 10 domains on a single subject, with multiple relevant keywords all targeting a single niche, repeat every 10 domains.

For the auto spin, you need to keep an eye on the Google Cache, that will give you a reference point (keyword, date/time) you can compare to the SERPs.

You use domains, I use categories, still I'm interested to see any results you have with that test.

I built a bot (using uBot) and a set of dynamic site templates that I wrote myself that automates most of the site creation process. I describe my methods in detail on my blog *shrugs* With a little php, it's easy to automate a lot of things based on keywords etc.

What does adsense have to do with it?
If it mattered, then you would never link any
        sites together.

But, you'd be a fool not to. I do it. Big sites
do it. Everybody should do it.

People, build your own online empires. It
works great, never have to worry about
where to get links, publish content, etc.

The people that worry are doing shifty
things. But it's not linking up. Never has
        been.

Besides, if your adsense code is on a page,
and another, makes no difference if you
        link up, does it?

Anyone NOT linking their blogspot blog
to their dot coms? Adsense traveling along
        with it?

You'd be a fool not to.

I always go with what the big boys are doing
because I want to be one of them. They are
not shy about linking up. From amazon to
        ebay, from wikipedia to gasbuddy.

Gasbuddy alone links up hundreds. Adsense
with them. They are an adsense partner, so
I guess it never hurt them.
