I tried three press release sites and all of them charge something for publishing press release. Any free press release sites?

The ones worth using aren't free. But if you insist on wasting your time, mashable has a list: http://mashable.com/2007/10/20/press-releases/

Even this list is not full of free?
Kindly assist, why would I want to waste my time? Why do people give so much importance to press release submission then?

It's simple. If you don't have something "newsworthy" to publish, then don't do press releases. If you DO have something "newsworthy" and you actually want humans to read it, you're not gonna be able to achieve that with free press release sites.

People give importance to PR because of the ability to reach reporters, publishers, influencers, etc and create awareness and ultimately get backlinks from THEM ...not from press release sites.

Thanks again! So now I get the point. We don't get backlinks directly from PR but people who like or think that our news is important, do link to us.
