Question about Death By Captcha Fraud

Hi Everyone,
I hope this is the right place to ask this. I finally decided to sign up for a decaptcha service so I wouldn't have to input all those things in my AMR software. I signed up for Death by Captcha and they have already taken the money out of my account but I can't use it because they are asking me to verify my order. Something about anti-fraud. This is what they asked for:

"In order to validate your payment and complete your order, please
provide us with the following documents during the next two business
days:

- a copy of a recent credit card billing statement, confirming the
name, address, and telephone number associated with the credit card
presented for your order.
- a copy of a photo ID (identification card, driver`s license or
passport) of the Credit/Debit Card account holder."

They want me to scan this information which is time consuming and kind of defeated the purpose of them being time savers. But my main concern is them asking me for a passport or driver's license.

My questions are: Have any of you ever had this sent to you by this company? Would you give them this information? Or would you ask for your money back and go with someone else?

I've never gotten an email like that before especially not over a piddling $6.95. Seems like overkill to me but maybe that's how they always do things.

Thanks guys!

I M using death by captcha since a long time, I havnt got any such information. Although they take some time to renew the balance, but they wont ask for any credit card billing information. Have you ever used the proxy for signing up the death by captcha account?

    Hi musicabonita,

I'm a Customer Rep. from of Death By Captcha = )

I'm sincerely sorry to read of your bad experience with our Payment Processor (an affiliate, but independent entity of DBC). I really appreciate your feedback.

As your payment did not pass our payment processor filters, they'll return the funds involved in the transaction to you if you don't provide them the verification documents they require.

I completely understand your situation. They can be very uptight when it comes to the verification process, but sadly we cannot bypass it yet. We've had bad experiences in the past with fraudulent transactions and we still need this payment processor for security reasons.

We're looking to add new payment processors as well in the not too distant future.

Here are a few tips in order to buy with little to-none hassle:

    - Try to order using the same e-mail you used to create your Death by Captchaaccount (while logged into Death by Captcha, you can change your e-mail by clicking on the My Account link).

    - Try to avoid using your payment information from a public network, a proxy, or from a different region/country.

    - Only insert real/valid information.

The payment processor will not approve your order if you provide incomplete or invalid information, even if you're paying with a verified PayPal account.
However, in the meantime you can buy from us using Plimus.com, WebMoney and Liberty Reserve (see the ''Order CAPTCHAs'' section on our website

Please also feel free to PM your DBC username / reference number assigned to your purchase to take a closer look into it.

    Best Regards,

Sounds like the payment processor, most services that use things like Plimus or 2CO have fraud prevention checks. Sounds like that's what you are going through.

syedmuntajib-Thanks for your reply. No I've never used a proxy before.

jlanc85- Thank you for your informative reply. The company decided I was a low fraud risk and so they allowed me to bypass the security checks or whatever they were. But I will keep your information in mind.
Dizen and Paul- Thanks for your replies.

Everything seems to be working okay now guys. Appreciate the help.
