Has anyone using Bookmarking Demon getting penalized by penguin? I've been using BMD to boost my site rank in SERP and it worked well. But not anymore

Wondering if there is any of you who've been using BMD getting penalized too... & whether you've recovered

    I have been using BMD with no issues at all.

    BMD on its own shouldn't cause penalties unless you are nuking your site excessively with it.

    You may also want to weed out the lower quality sites from your list as well.

    I was using BMD too,and had no problem. But make sure you don`t overuse it,and filter low quality bookmarking sites, there is no reason to post on them...

    As far as I'm concerned, your problem isn't directly caused on BMD.

    You should avoid posting on unnecessary low ranked bookmarks. Also, you can improve your rank by mimicking link pruning. Removal of bookmarks that seem to hurt your site.

      So far I've been using only high PR & dofollow bookmarks with BMD. And usually I make 50 to 80 bookmarkings with BMD with the 2nd tiered links, NOT my main website.

      It used to work very well, but I've noticed since the era of Penguin, it doesn't give me any effect at all, and my keywords are dropping fast into nowhere to be found

      so what should I do now? How do I recognize which ones are crap bookmarks and which ones are not since I've selected to dofollow bookmarks only.

    I think link diversity and anchor text diversity with quality backlinks is what in need post penguin era.

    It's absolutely caused ranking issues for 3 of my sites. I had one of my SEO people submit a URL through BMD on September 25, 2012 and 4 days later, the the site/page was getting significantly less traffic. Same sort of event happened to a property site of mine in August of this year.

    Each link that we promoted had a tremendous amount of description and anchor text diversity.

    One thing that we did not do is we did not remove the lower ranking PR sites. I'll try that next time.

    It's NOT what tools you use, automation is fine.. It's how YOU use them.. BD is perfectly fine, I use it.

    Another thing will be that bookmarks are not working so well as backlinks. Is now more used as back-link for other back-links. I also notice that if I bookmark directly one of my sites nothing happens. Penalized? No way. Although... if you really really have done tens of thousands of them in very short time... it may be something that Google suspect as being spammy links.
