Hello All,

What would you recommend I do to boost keyword ranking for my site? I know the exact keywords that clients use for our services but how do I get the search engines to boost the rank of those words? FYI, I've included these terms in the URL, page title, keywords meta tag and as part of an h1 tag in our page. Yet when I do a rank analysis, we're not even on the radar.

Thank you for the help!

Kirb, it takes time. There are very many aspects to SEO - I would suggest googling the basics for a detailed read. If you need to get moving now, then you may look to outsource the work.

You will need to build your backlinks in order to improve rank.

On-page SEO is awesome and often overlooked, but the links make websites rise in ranks.

There are services that do this for you (my signature below) or you can do it yourself.

Use good content (no cheating) and switch up your keywords to add some variation. Try and get your links from as many different websites as you can. Anything you can think of to cheat Google has probably been thought of by Google, so keep it clean for long-term success.

      Hi Max,

Would you care to elaborate as to what you mean by On-page SEO?

On-Page (or On-Site) SEO relates to your domain name, URLs, Title tags, H1 tags, bold text, etc. It covers the things that YOU can do "on your page" or "on your site" and also includes content, link structure, and organization of your site. Google penalizes for over-optimization, so don't 'thicken' what must be done. Simply use your keywords in some kind of normal speaking way.

Off-site SEO relates to things that come from other places besides your website. Mostly, this is the backlink thing in one way or another.

    Hi Kirb,

It all depends on how strong the competition is to what you
    need to do.

However in general promote your page in a variety of ways.
    - Make a video
    - Bookmark
    - Make a blog post about it
    - Submit a Press Release

This will get you found very quickly

    Hope this helps

So there's not in the page itself that I should be doing. Is that correct? How do I make the keywords stand out?
