Hey guys,
I made 10 to 15 new pages for my site and started link building on the keywords of those pages, after a few weeks the keywords showed up and then suddenly all of them disappeared  what could be the reason behind it ?

Or Penguin Update that annihilated most indexes from directories of many website owners.

You know, there are lots of changes happened in Google algorithm. A lots of updates released panda, penguin. It may be the reason that the content on those pages may be not appropriate or copied from somewhere else etc. Try to updated those pages with fresh and new content and then again choose the best suited keywords for those pages and then do some seo practices.

Have you done proper seo for these 15 pages...? I mean to say, have you done proper on page for these 15 pages before starting the link building activities..? If yes, then you need to continue with the link building following the latest Google guidelines after the Penguin updates and wait for the rankings..

Don't stop link building but little bit slowly. Don't try to get result fast. All the keyword will be back within a short time.

No need to worry Allen I think it's because of Google Dance, your rankings will be back again. Try to create quality backlinks rather than going for spammy ones. Have you used all the lecit SEO practices ?

What i have analysed is that most of the time google is in search for the new domain, and as it found any new domain then it displays in the top search results in beginning. But then after if google not found so much response for those pages or information, then rank goes down for those keywords targeted for the pages. And apart from that we can say just the google dance and algorithm updation for the results inconsistency.

Based on limited information which you provide, I would say that is "Google dance" - So do not STOP getting links, keep going, when Google see more constant links to the site, that will give you credits and rank top.

It seems you have been hit by Penguin refresh. Make your link building slower and get some high-quality links. Hope you will get some positive results.

These things happens to my keywords too. My website is about 2 weeks old I have built a very few back links with it and it has high competition. But due to proper SEO my website get to #43 for the main keyword for just 2 weeks. But sometimes it will disappear. And when I checked it again on the next day it has appeared again. So my only guess for that is Google Dance. GUESS....

It could be that Google recognizes the bad techniques you used earlier.

How did you get those links? and in what time period?
See, there are algorithms running, which identifies the websites having poor or suspicious link building. If your website is one of them, you may be victim of Penguin attack.

Thank you guys for your suggestions. I have sufficiently slowed down link building on those keywords. Lets just hope they show up again soon. By the way, what should should be the quantity of links each day? How many QUALITY backlinks should I create each day for keywords being hit by Penguin?

I would not worry. From learning experience, for new websites, first time SEO is nightmare with the new Google changes. I am still waiting for that golden moment when all the hard work over the past 2 months i have put in to link build actaully shows up in the google rabkings. I have upwords of 200 Joomla forum links which just do not even register.

Same happened to my site twice. When keywords recovered, they were in high ranks than earlier ones. This took about two weeks. During this I have only bookmarked on PR2+ relevant sites have relevant category.

There are two ways to check the reason for the drop in your rankings. Firstly it can be due to Penguin Updates(released on April 24, 2012), to review this just check if your website got a major drop in rankings since April 24th if your answer is yes then your website has been effected by the Penguin Update. If you do not see any major change in the traffic after the Penguin Update then it might be Google Dance and your ranking might come up in the rankings in some time. The reason for this Google Dance is many website's rankings have changed post Penguin so you would come up in rankings once all spammy websites are cleared off.
