Do Sales Pages Get Ranked Well and have Decent SEO Value?

From what I have learned in my research into SEO is that generally the more pages you have the better chance you have in ranking within the search engines such as Google. I have seen many sales pages that have an article section that I assume is there for SEO value, but for the most part they seem to have just one single page

So my question is: Do single page sales pages rank well in Google?

That is possible with a good amount of quality backlinks!

hi the white, a sales page is just another web page to the search engines. They do not know whether it is a sales page or not. So to answer to your questions. Sure you can rank good for a sales page provided you get lots of quality backlink to your sales page using your chosen keywords in the link. And sure you need to write a compelling title and meta description tags (include your targeted keywords) like what you do with a normal web page

    do I answer your questions?

That's pretty much the answer I expected. I was just curious if people employed any different SEO techniques for sales pages, as you do not have an entire website to push specific keywords and keyword phrases, you just have one page.

Zoobie, so you are saying that I should just employ the standard SEO techniques (ie H1, meta tags, title, back links etc) and I should do all right (provided the competition isn't tough)?
