So if exact says: "Not Enough Data" mean we should forget that keyword right?

Agreed - I was talking to an IM friend of mine yesterday about this same thing. I wanted to use some broad keywords and he quickly corrected me to using exact. Bummer, too, because I came up with some really great long tail keywords that no one was searching for - LOL!

FredJones - question for you. You said that phrase matches are somewhere between broad and exact matches. What is the difference? I tried to do a phrase match and it gave me two to three word keywords. How is this different than the broad and exact matches that return two to three word keyword results?

    Did that make sense?

Whether you should be concerned by the 'not enough data' message really depends on what you're trying to rank. If you've an aged domain/established site and have spotted a keyword that people may be searching for (i.e. through Google Suggest) that looks extremely uncompetitive, then it's not unrealistic to expect to rank a page just by producing a piece of well optimised, quality content. You probably won't get a lot of extra visitors every month by doing this, but you will get some. Google's keyword tool is far from 100% accurate and given that you are only investing a relatively small amount of time, then it could prove worthwhile.

If you are looking for some LSI terms to add anchor text diversity to your backlinking campaign, then again, you shouldn't necessarily be put off by the 'not enough data' message. But if you are researching a main keyword to target, then - unless you have reason to believe this term will become a trend - steer well clear.
