Google Webmaster Tool Notice

Just received a notice from Google Webmaster Tools.

Dear site owner or webmaster of http://www._____________________/, We've detected that some of your site's pages may be using techniques that are outside Google's Webmaster Guidelines. Specifically, look for possibly artificial or unnatural links pointing to your site that could be intended to manipulate PageRank. Examples of unnatural linking could include buying links to pass PageRank or participating in link schemes. We encourage you to make changes to your site so that it meets our quality guidelines. Once you've made these changes, please submit your site for reconsideration in Google's search results.

There is no link buying or link scheme participation is happening. Have been building some legit back links through warriors who are offering their services here. That has been stopped for couple of months now. May be that sudden stop has caused the issue? Or how can those unnatural links can be identified and removed?

Any advise would help. Thanks.

    Stop saying you weren't buying links or participating in a link scheme. If you bought anything from the Warriorforum, that's exactly what you were doing. So yeah ...No there aren't "legit" backlinks and No it wasn't the sudden stop that caused the message.

    Now that you know how to identify them (go back to the reports the warriors sent you, if any), you can try to get them deleted. If you're unable to remove a great percentage of them, I wouldn't waste time sending a reconsideration request.

    Also keep in mind that as you remove links, and you also reduce the likelihood that your site will ever return to its positions unless you add more links.

    Another option is to simply move the content to a new domain without doing a 301 redirect. Essentially, start over.

      Thanks for the advices. Btw, i strongly believe that buying links is much different than building links.

          Well, do you mean Press Releases, creating Web 2.0 properties, creating blog posts are Link Schemes? I guess Google is clear on what they mean by buying links and link schemes. Even link trading with related websites they allow i believe.

    Tons more messages went out this week, lots of webmasters are reporting this.

    Killing most small/medium competitors with a few links blasts has never been easier. Good luck bros.

    P.S. spare me the "negative SEO is a myth" nonsense.

      Yeah, with my recent experience it's obvious how easy, if you're near the top in google for a search term, to kill off a new and rising site site with a fiverr gig.

        I saw the same complaint from many of the webmasters in webmasters tool community forum too. So its something which is raising very recently.
