Is it possible to rank Vimeo or Daily Motion vids on Google page 1?

After a recent termination of one of my YouTube accounts (I know I probably violated their community guidelines somehow, but I couldn't get a reason out of them).

Anyhow, it wasn't that big a deal because I had all the videos backed up. I have since joined Vimeo and Daily Motion, because I hear they are the two biggest after YouTube.

I have already found one of the Daily Motion videos on page 1 of Google, but in the #10 slot. Have yet to find a Vimeo video on page 1 or even page 2.

So my question is this:

Is it possible to rank Vimeo and Daily Motion videos above the YouTube videos IF I do some SEO?

And also:

Has anyone ever done this?


This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm only asking because I did a bunch of searches and have yet to find a Vimeo or DM videos ranked better than YouTube vids.

    Yes it is possible with enough backlinks, but Youtube are owned by google

    Agree with above, very hard to rank just use youtube.

    I just got one of my videos ranked on google using Metacafe..

    but I still recommend YouTube.

      Metacafe is another one I could use... Thanks. I'm trying to find a YouTube workaround because I just had one of my accounts terminated. I have backups of the vids, but I want to stay away from YT for a while so I don't lose all my accounts there.

      I know a lot of marketers use Daily Motion for their squeeze pages, sales pages, etc. because they have some cool features, such as auto-play.

      Also, I find that my videos come out a better quality than YouTube on DM and Vimeo.

    SEO is effective in the most weirdest places, so i would say yes. go for it.
