Link Building To Different Pages (PAST PENGUIN)

Hi,

I want to buy a contextual homepage backlink service. However, I heard on this forum a lot of rumors:

  • You have to build links to different pages
  • You have to build links to a page with different anchor texts
I agree with number 2. You have to have different anchor texts.


But how about number1. you have to build links to different pages?


Not all my pages are from an economic perspective worth building links for? But it could mean that the single most important page will not rank?

    Penguin is all down to varying anchor text. Its not just a complete variation but all relevant to the page your targeting and trying to keep it at a certain percentage.

    An example: Main Keyword (30%) 2nd (10%) 3rd (10%) etc etc etc.. (Just an example not actual percentile)

    I highly advise that you link build to at least your homepage aswel. Think of it this way, one of your pages has 10 links, your homepage has none. How do you think that would look in googles eyes? Natural? I think not. As a rule of thumb, your homepage should have more links to it than any of your other pages as this is normal for a website.

    So, from what I understand here. Building links to your website with different anchor texts must be done.

    But, building links to different pages - especially when we are talking about a big website, with 100+ pages, it's not required to build links to a lot of pages.
