Social+SEO strategies to increase rankings

Social media and SEO go hand in hand these days, and everyday we hear how important it is to incorporate social media into our SEO processes. The question is how?:confused:

I've been trying to figure out new ways to incorporate social media in to my SEO strategies so that I can increase my clients rankings. I figured this would be the best place to ask others what kind of strategies they are engaging in.

How are you tying in Social Media into your SEO strategies? Are there certain things that can be done with Social Media to acquire higher search engine rankings? What are some things that you do that are effective?

    That's an extensive question to answer.

    I believe what can help you is not finding a solution how to drive your SEO with social media but rather studying social media engagement practices.

    From the webmaster standpoint, you should look into making your clients' sites social media friendly - i.e. check out that there are commenting options and share buttons where appropriate.

    Apparently, your clients should have corporate social media accounts and dedicated SM managers not only to talk TO themselves and ABOUT themselves, but to truly engage with community.

      I agree with you. Learning Social Media is really important now. Understanding how it can help you get the rankings is important.

    I only use social bookmarking to get decent backlinks but I never think of it as a way to get better ranking. If you are determined to get a nice rank in Google then do article marketing, build links in high ranking sites by blog commenting, forum marketing helps out too.

    you can go with like

    a)in your website or blog , plugin all social media button by share, tweet , +1 or add in social bookmarking.

    b)In your blog comment , you can allow them to link with their social media account to give comment .

    c)Ask them to like your social media page and profile to follow up with you , it work like email marketing subscribers which they ask them to follow and update them through post to bring them back .

    Let me ask you this... Are you sure it is that important? I know from other messages you have posted you do a lot of local SEO. Are you seeing competitors of your clients using social media to improve rankings? If so, how?

    I'm just not seeing its impact or solid enough proof of its impact.

    I have yet to see a study done on multiple sites using social media alone to rank them.

    You should add this social sharing plugin and you should share your client's every page or post to Facebook, twitter, stumble upon, my space, delicious, tumbler, linkedin. etc. You should share your client's images to pinterest.
