Amazon Sites Home Page Question

Hi, I was wondering if you guys use a static page for your Amazon sites? Or do you just let your latest post be on the main page?

I'm trying to figure out what in the world I can do for the front page. I was thinking of writing a lot of content with inner page links to other categories.....I already have a navigation bar on top so I don't know if that matters.

Any suggestions?

I do a bit of both. SEO is difficult on your home page if it's always changing with new posts, unless you sticky a bunch of posts.

Depending on what theme I'm using it generally means a bit of hacking, but I will make some home page content and somehow feature it on the home page.

Edit - did that make sense at all? Just re-read it.

My home page though is just a brand name. It has nothing to do with any kind of keywords to "rank" if that makes sense.

But it is of course a particular niche.

Do you mean your domain and site title are just our own personal brand? That's fine. Most of mine are too.

What you need to concern yourself with is the content of your home page. I still do my best to rank for my individual posts/reviews but I do like to do some SEO for my home page. One of my bigger sites is a broad niche so I make sure that my homepage content has the broad niche and inner microniche keywords. It's kind of nice when you can get two pages showing up on the 1st page of Google!

You don't have to do it this way, but it's a good idea to have at least some of your home page content static. If it's dynamic it's going to be very hard to rank - at least the way I understand things! I'm not claiming to be an SEO master. There are enough of those snake oil salesman around here.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will step in and correct me.

I don't care if my home page ever ranks so I generally just show my last 5 to 10 reviews.
