Hi Warriors !

I have been working for many clients and working on many websites. As you know that Google has hit penguin update and Panda updates recently. Most of the websites are affected with this update.
When new clients came and show the URL of websites, I do not have any Google analytics access and I could not find out that website is hit by Penguin update or Panda update.

My question is that can we know that website is hit by penguin update by just having a URL of website ?

Also did any of your website came back from Google penguin update ?

Hope will get serious reply.

Thanks

If you understand the Penguin update, pretty much all you need to do is analyze the backlinks of the page and you will be able to quickly tell if it was hit by Penguin or not.

As for Panda, that is more about the content on the page. Again a quick analysis of it will help determine if Panda hit the page.

Also, not every ranking drop has to do with Penguin and/or Panda. Sites can lose rankings for all kinds of different reasons.

well yes i understand the penguin update and i have analyzed the back links of the page but it seems that there are many variation of Anchor text. Around 50+ Anchor text is used in making back links ! Then how will you come to know ?

What kind of analysis do you do to have a look that it is hit by penguin ?

      Thanks

I'm sorry, and not to sound like a douche, but if you do not know how to diagnose this kind of problem, maybe you shouldn't be taking on clients as an SEO.

If you understand what's Panda and Penguin about, you can then estimate if a site is hit by GP and GP.
I am not asking for Estimation ?? I need the real reason to look at it !

      Thanks

    Supertini1,

It gets a bit more complicated than that. The links that the website is linking to could be devalued because they were linking inappropriately, which means a devaluation would affect your client's rankings as well.

I would start with a link analysis first and determine Exact match % in the anchor text. The brand name of the website should be the most linked to. If not, then I would work up more link building with brand in mind.

Then I would look at the links that are linking to your client and see if any of them are using a link network (they are super easy to spot). If so, I would request to have those links removed.

And then I would start link building all over again with the focus being high quality links that is market related.

well, I have analyzed the back links and most of the back links are coming from well known websites and Brand name is much more then other keywords. Brand name is used a lot of times in links.

How would you do your analysis ? Which tool will you use ?
