Hi,
I originally put this thread in the general forum but was told I should have put it here, so I've moved it.

I am in the process of writing a book and creating a website that relate to health. As an example of my question, let's say I was writing about multiple sclerosis (which I'm not, but it's a good example). I have the chance to have the website thenewmultiplesclerosisdiet.com or thenewmsdiet.com

Would the short form...thenewmsdiet.com work when someone was searching for info on multiple sclerosis or do I need to use the full phrase multiple sclerosis for the site to be picked up when people are searching for info. on multiple sclerosis?

Thanks for your input.

maggie2, you can go for the keyword research and pick the keywords having huge search volume. If the keywords "multiple sclerosis" have better search volume than other short one, then you must use the phrase in domain. It will increase the probability to get your website on top sooner in the search result. Also create the pages and set the urls of those pages, related to the keywords being used for the page.

    1. Shorter is easy to remember by people. So, they can easily visit when your site is growing on long run.

    2. Yes, search engines prefer shorter URL.
