I am about to start getting into building a list using a simple squeeze page on one of my websites, is Aweber the best thing for getting the emails and sending an auto responder or is there a better service / better value

Any tips appreciated

Aweber is the very best. IMHO. Just read honest reviews before you make your choice.

I like aweber the best of all the autoresponders. But there are some really powerful others:

getresponse, icontact, mail chimp. one of the warriors here owns imnicamail.

I think imnicamail is the best to try.

Aweber is one of the best email marketing services, but maybe you could start using a free service like Mailchimp (free for 2000 subscribers).

I did have a slight look at mail chimp but i didn't find it that user friendly when trying to actually inset a code into my squeeze page and i saw a lot of tutorials for Aweber so i thought i would get your opinion on it

I recently came across Traffic Wave. Looks interesting. I'm going to try them for a new campaign I'm starting this week.

I'm using Aweber and have been pleased.

    • I use PHPlist for my newsletters because I didn't want to bother paying someone a monthly fee. PHPlist is not as easy to set up, but it's free and just as effective. Assuming your hosting service lets you run it, but many of them do.

I have used aWeber.com for years and have never had a problem. However, I am currently testing out iContact.com. They are a little bit cheaper, but that's not the reason I decided to give them a try. The reason I'm testing out their services is because they now offer some cool social networking automation features. So far it seems pretty easy to use as long as you've got some experience managing email campaigns.

I have used Aweber, Constant Contact, iContact, MailChimp & Vertical Response.

I like Aweber & Constant Contact the best.

A lot of changes recently to Aweber have left me, and many other customers feeling quite disappointed. The interface is so clunky and cumbersome, that it's just downright annoying.

My biggest gripe with Aweber is the lack of list segmentation and conditional rules. Oh, and the fact that they kindly store and charge you for dead leads (unsubscribes). And guess what? There's no automated way of scrubbing leads, unless you actually login and do it manually. Not a big issue if you only have a handful of unsubs, but its definitely annoying if you have dozens or hundreds. To have them removed, you have to actually contact them and "ask" for it do be done.

Once you start getting into list segmenations and rules, you'll see Aweber for what it really is. It's quite basic in its offerings.

A lot of the big wigs are now ditching Aweber in favour of Office Auto Pilot. OfficeAutoPilot

Its expensive, and yes, Im still stuck using Aweber, but as soon as I can, Ill be ditching it.

It really depends on your specific needs. If you're just starting out, then Aweber is your best solution and the beauty of it is that you can start for just $1. If you're looking for advanced features then you might want to research Infusionsoft.

I would recommend sendgrid. It is cheap and affordable with great API for you to properly integrate your email process into it.

I have used over 25 autoresponder services and interviewed even more for over 15 years, and aweber IS NOT the best choice whatsoever. Anyone who says they're the best, probably just doesn't know any better. Anyone who says they have the best deliverability doesn't know any better OR is an outright liar.

Send Pepper and Office Auto Pilot are 100x better than Aweber, fwiw.
