Nobody can give you a real answer for that. A lot depends on how many links are on that page. If it is a PR 8 page with only 3-4 outgoing links, that is a lot more valuable than a PR 8 page with 600 outgoing links.

There are not too many places you can get an actual PR 8 link though. If someone is trying to sell it to you and charging anything less than $500+ a month, I would be very skeptical of it.

I can almost guarantee that unless you are paying a truckload of money, you won't be getting a backlink from a legitimate PR8 page.

Your page should turn into a PR6 if all is legit but it's just page rank. It won't necessarily make your site rank just because it's now a PR6.

But it will deffo help, a lot, assuming that his on page stuff is in order and the keyword is not rediculously tough to rank for.

1 PR 8 link is nice and will increase your PageRank but don't forget Google likes to see some popularity also. Not just 1 great link.

Link from PR8 will make your site PR6 in 1st update.
But only if the PR8 site is not flagged by Google already.
Many high PR sites are, and don't pass PR juice. Checking existing outgoing links to other sites to see if the PR was passed can give you an idea, but for obvious reason wont be accurate.
Your best chance is if your website is on the same topic and also if you use banner instead of text link.
Put something like "car insurance" on web hosting or edu site and you are guaranteed to not pass the PR.
Also you taking chance if high PR is foreigner language. It still could work if both site are on same niche and your site offers valuable info.
Days when any language/niche sites gave PR boost are long over.
TIP: If the donor PR8 site is edu site, register .edu domain ( TLD ) and then you got yourself PR6 site in 1st update.
PM me if you need help with making decision.
I dont own PR8 domain anymore but still have couple of legit PR7 that went PR0 to PR7 in 1st update.

      Hi Artion,

The Page Rank works in this way:

If you put your link now to a PR 8 page and on the next update that page will still have PR 8 and have a few OBL then you will get PR7.

If you put your link now to a PR 8 page and on the next update that page will get PR 4 and have a few OBL then you will get PR3.

      Good luck!

Exactly my point, I have never seen any mention of a formula that defines the exact rate of juice flow and the increase in PR related to that.

Are you basing your opinion on expierience?

Sorry if I'm being ignorant here, but on what evidence do you base this? can you give us a link to a case study or one of your sites where you have seen this happen?

    No.

If it's a new site, how would it possibly be a quality site? Unless you wrote volumes of content, it's going to be very tiny.

PR is apparently only assigned a few times per year, as I understand it, so even if it was high quality already, Google won't rank it for PR for a while...

If you have quality content, Google will notice and eventually, hopefully, it will give you some sort of PR.

Google is weird about PR. I've had very random success with PR.

Wouldn't we all agree that it is about the volume of quality backlinks you have pointing to your site, that is what is going to get you the page rank?

Is their a exact value that gets passed along from site to site based on the PR? For instance a PR8 site with a few outgoing links makes your site a PR6?

No, you will not get any page rank till google page rank update. It depends on How many OBL are there on PR8 page. Pr will get divided on all the links on that page.

I understand that the rank juice will only reflect once the update takes place. I'm interested in knowing if their is a formula for how the rank juice is divided on the page.

For example if you had a PR0 site and you were the only link on the site how much would your rank increase, or if you were 1 of a 100 or a 1000 etc
