redirecting keyword rich expired domain

I'm trying to build page rank on a particular site. I've seen that a few keyword rich domains available for purchase for the keyword phrase I'm trying to rank for.

My question is, if this is an expired domain, so it doesn't have any rank or authority, just keyword-ness, and assuming it doesn't have any backlinks, would it be of any benefit to purchase one of these keyword rich domains and 301 it to the site I'm trying to build rank on?

An old domain with quality dofollow, anchor text (the keyword/keywords you are targeting) backlinks to it definitely helps to get good rank gain after 301 redirect.

EMDs are not going to be very helpful as they were once. Yes still EMDs carries some value but I would not use EMDs as these seems spammy.

So if the domain is just an EMD with 0 backlinks to it then I would recommend you not to go for it. Well if I were you I would purchase the domain if it is at least 1 or 2 years old! Recently I discovered a new trick that surely I am not going to share publicly. lol

This is a great strategy just make sure you utilize it correctly.

It will pretty much only be of use to you if it has PR though. You can buy a completely irrelevant website and redirect it but that's a little unsafe. Try finding one that's at least SLIGHTLY related

High PR sites are great buffer sites for new domains and sort of allow you to build links in bulk.

I'm not saying you should go out and build 30,000 backlinks but you can build a large amount of links to the website that has the 301 pointed towards your new one.

From all the testing I've done it makes ranking IMPOSSIBLY easy even on high competition keywords.

But I also think this method is getting more and more caught onto each and every day so make sure no matter what you're still practicing safe link building methods even on the buffer website

And you are revealing this for just some thanks or as you cant stop talking! I can create some big posts here in WF and collect huge complements easily. Remember as this forum is open to you its open to google beagles too.

PS: This strategy is not secret at all. And im sure google gonna fix it asap

No! If it has no links then forget about it.

If the expired domain has no backlinks, then it's pretty much useless for this purpose.

It depends on how long it's been expired. Google knows how old a domain is, but it also knows when they change hands. I believe there's a little lag in the system to allow for an expired domain to be renewed by the original owner, but it's not 'that' long.

If the domain is listed in a directory or otherwise has articles or other links, then a redirect would give you some traffic, but honestly, I don't think it's going to give any sort of SEO value by giving a redirect.

However, if it's a good keyword rich domain name, then it will give some sort of organic value.

In the end, I don't believe there is any particular benefit to redirecting an expired domain that is not listed in a directory or otherwise having existing links.
