Best way for me to advertise/seo

I have a web site with a single domain, and over 700 articles in it somewhat centering around the same niche. All the Articles are original and pretty high quality.

The structure would be like this:
http://www.mrfixit.com/sinks/article1.html
http://www.mrfixit.com/sinks/article2.html
http://www.mrfixit.com/waterheater/article1.html
http://www.mrfixit.com/waterheater/article2.html

And so forth. Each article is currently in google. Each article is titled with its own unique name.

I am making some money, so I'm not complaining, but I have NEVER advertised.

I'd love for some recommendations on how I can advertise so many articles.

Do I need to advertise each one?
Do I need just to advertise the main domain name that has links to submenus with all the articles (eg mrfixit.com - home improvement) (yes its just an example and not mine)?

I'd like to know a great place to start. Was considering just putting the main domain on Yahoo directory and hoping for the best. I don't if that would be worth the $299 a year or not. I don't know if I need to build backlinks to each of the 700 articles either....

Any tips appreciated.
