Hit By Negitive Link Blast?

Yesterday I was #1 for my main keyword and today I am #27 ??

I am pretty sure someone has hit me with a xrumer blast as this is the same kind of effect I got when I tested negitive link building on one of my sites.

All my link building has been clean "penguin" and "panda" safe. So short of going out and blasting the main suspects what do I do?

When I tested this in the past it took a few weeks to bounce back, but there is nothing stopping this happening again.

What do you suggest people?

I suggest not making posts criticising XRumer, and drawing attention to the potential for negative SEO by commenting on the possibilities of "blasting your competitors", while at the same time promoting SENukeX services/reviews in your signature-file.

(Edited later to add: I see the OP above has now edited his post and removed some of the parts of it about which I commented. Just in case anyone's wondering what I was talking about, here!)

    ^ LOL.

Anyway, there is a lot of opinions on this topic and it is extremely hard to determine the exact cause of your fallen rank.

Sometimes this can just happen from regular Google algo updates, don't rule that out. In fact I would be very surprised if you dropped due to negative links. Blasting your competitors is NOT going to solve your problem.

Why not try something constructive and build high quality links and content for your own website rather than waste time blasting bad links to your competitors.

The simple answer, though I know that isn't what you want to hear, is to forget about Google traffic and only think of it as a bonus.

While I am an advocate of diversifying your traffic sources, I find it kind of silly to ignore what could potentially be your biggest source of targeted traffic.

You are making a pretty big assumption without providing any proof. A simple ranking drop does not mean someone was blasting your site with bad links. Do you track your links? Did you see a bunch of these type of links created to prove your argument?

Sites can drop for tons of different reasons including loss of links (sites disappear from the internet all the time), recent downtime on your server, a change in content, a change in URL structure, a change in internal link structure, somebody may have gotten tired of all the spam on their website and changed all comment links to nofollow (if you rely on comment spam for ranking your site), if you had a new site it may have been experiencing QDF, you might have been seeing personalized results and never been ranked as high as you thought in the first place, and on and on and on...

I don't understand what would make you jump right away to the conclusion of being hit by Xrumer spam.

Figure how what really caused the drop in ranking and then take it from there. Building quality links to the site can also help bring back your site.

    STOP, worrying about negative SEO.

    Just continue your normally link building tactics;

    or

Just buy or get 100+ social bookmarking links then convert them RSS and get those links submitted to major RSS engines (best to get automated tool for that).

    All the best....

Ah, but if it was a scrapebox blast 99% of those links would probably be wordpress nofollowed links, so they should have absolutely no effect on your SERP ranking.....

As far as i am aware Google does not take much account of keywords. The funny thing is i have my title for my website due to the added compantition with a well known book. However, for Google i rank page 8, Yahoo page 5 and Baidu top of the page. I find it quite funny that somehow i am able to beat not only the Chinese site but also the sites who ranking higher than me in Google. I am starting to wonder whether Google has underhand payments for site rankings.
