Total Noob Question About Articles.

Hey guys, I'm totally drawing a blank here.

Let's say you have a website, you need 5 articles etc. etc. (doesn't matter how many, I'm just using that as an example.)

Do 5 include the About Me, Privacy, and Contact page?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks!

You can have a site with only one article + the other ones (about me, privacy, contact) and if you have proper optimization, both on-page and off-page you can still rank it well....

However, it is recommended to have more than one "Content" Article on your website... it makes it look more professional and you get more traffic overall of course.

      Makes sense...

I just couldn't remember if 5 articles didn't include the other three pages. (so 8 pieces of information).

The 5 articles can include the other 3 pages IF the other 3 pages provide some unique meaningful content.

Google does not care if a page is an article or a contact us page. What Google cares about (when spidering) is the value of the content on that page. As long as you have unique content (my personal criteria of at least 400 words) with media (pictures/ youtube), your content will be meaningful to Google and be indexed quickly.

You also don't really have to have just 5 pieces of content. There is nothing wrong with 4 or 6. Of course, the more the merrier.

Contact, privacy, about me aren't "articles" at all. There's nothing magical about having 5 pages of content.

If I'm interpreting your question right, though; you shouldn't count them. If you want 5 pages to try to rank, then write 5 articles other than these pages.

It depends on what kind of website you are handling. If you have for example a website like this https://williamjroutsis.com/, 5 articles including About Me, Privacy, and Contact page would be enough.

It wasn't so much of me wanting to count them or not, it was just a question that I had and wanted an answer to. I've always planned on five articles other than the other 3.
