      Hi slimderek,

Following there is a tutorial how to block these ads for adsense:

      h++p://w*w.ehow.com/how_8560866_erase-cpc-advertisers-google-adsense.html

You can find out the estimated cpc for a advertising website in Adsense with the following german site h++p://w*w.klickpreisdetektor.de/ or just use the google keywordtool.

Maybe there are more adquate ways to block low cpc-ads

      best regards

Not really sure why you're getting such a low CPC with your content type. When I visited your site, google was displaying ads with keywords: search engine submission, android tablets, and other high paying keywords. I have sites that's been around for years, and still today, the CPC jumps up and down.

Well sometimes advertisers are smart and manage to find some kw with hardly any competition that get's projected on your website. I once had one of these advertisers which was actually a competitor of mine and I got clicks for $0,05 and normally on average $0,50. When he entered the game I saw my Adsense income on that site drop with 30%, blocking was the only option.

      Hey Niko,

I thought about that as well but the site in question seems to have about 200 post, and one would think that with that much content that pays a high CPC, he should have enough longtail traffic to command better than 0.05. It doesn't look like OP is targeting any one keyword. Just a nice tech and social media site.

You can't block ads with low CPC. Your site is part
of the network that people bid on. Seriously. What
do you think a 5 cent ad is going to be replaced with?
        With a one dollar ad?
        If someone won the auction
with 5 cents, and you block them, don't you think maybe,
just maybe, the 4 cent bidder gets in? Or worse, you
        get blank space?!?!?!?!

You seriously need to research how google picks ads for
        your site.

If you really mean something like blocking seemingly
untargeted ads, that's another story. Thing is, google
is getting into personal ads a lot. Why not let google do
        it's job and pick ads?

You will need to work on getting more targeted ads. That comes
with the right signals, content, and visitors.

          Exactly this.

Googles serving Ads based on the on-page text/title. IMO the live web page is were the tweaks should be made. Works for me...

Hey PaulGL and Yukon, been following you guys for a minute, and have learned much from you guys along the way.

I'm just trying to figure out why OP is getting such a low CPC with that type of tech and social media content. These days, if you can get clicks that surround tech, seo and social media content and keywords, you can make some coin. At least more than 0.05 average per click. Looks like the site has around 200 post, not the best of quality (decent enough), and no duplicate content...

            not sure op srs...site promotion?

In some cases it's worth to block the advertiser. Sometimes you build a site around a topic that has a CPC of $0,05 while in fact no one uses that keyword in PPC campaigns, however the kw is closely related to the insurance niche and those DO pay $1+/click, and that is what Google shows in the ads.

But like I said, sometimes there is some smart ass that anticipates on that and tries to steal the traffic for peanuts so the best option is to just block them.

Sure it's a somewhat sporadic case and doesn't apply often but it does exist.
