Adding content question

I have a cleaning service site and really can't continually add content to the pages as clients would be overwhelmed buy to much content and probably just click through.

So I'm wondering what will adding new blog posts to my blog tab consistently help with? I know I can anchor text in the blog for a particular page I'm trying to rank. But are internal links really of any help?

Please advise me on how best to add to my site for higher ranking and better SEO.

Thank you in advance

The new content on the blog is fresh and google likes the "freshness". In addition there are links that you drive back to internal pages on your site and it does help. Mix up your anchor text (and don't use your keywords every time) and no more than 2 links per post.

Be sure you have any special offers on your blog over on the right hand side so potential customers who find your site via a blog post will be able to click through to the deals you have.

I expect that you are doing this for local SEO so its even better. I have a couple of clients that I do this for and it is extremely successful in keeping them on the 1st page of google.

People love adding content. I am not sure that it is the very best way forward. You may want to add content but more than that, you would want to add the right content.

For example, you could think of adding one article to your blog every three days, and thus add 120 articles over the year. Now, each of these 120 articles will address a long tail keyword in your niche. So you will now have 120 different long tails to rank for. These being long tails, you would also rank easily for them by building backlinks to them.

So in essence, I am talking about building an eco-system rather than just adding random content. That way, every piece of content will have its reason of being added also.

I think you're thinking about this all wrong. Have a static home page, and then a blog as you suggest.

On that blog give away a "Guide To Making Your Carpet Last Longer" or whatever kind of cleaning service you have.

Provide good content and news about your industry. Collect email addresses, send out tips, etc.

When it comes time for people to buy a service, they'll know who you are.

More content is always better. You just have to figure out how to leverage how people might be helped by that information.
