Its pretty much what it sounds like. You would buy a website from someone (probably through Flippa). Then you would fix up the website, add additional content, drive traffic etc so that the website is now more valuable than when you purchased it and you should be able to sell it for more than you paid for it.

To me blog flipping is when I go buy a keyword rich domain name, build a site around that keyword, get it to the first page of Google, and sell it for profit.

Flipping, in general, means building/buying something, with the intent to sell it in a short time.

Blog flipping could mean that you are building a new blog, probably with a low search volume keyword, with the intent to sell it as soon as you get stable traffic.

Most website buyers will pay more for a site with 6 months of data, but for a quicker(and smaller) payday you can sell it much sooner. (The timing really depends on the buyer...)

You could also buy a blog that has a small amount of traffic, and build MORE traffic, with the intent to SELL-IT-AGAIN once the traffic improved.

Check out Flippa... Ryan Moran has a program of site flipping, so go check him out. I'm not sure if he's on WF or not, but he's a pretty legit dude from what I know of him.

Are you considering blog flipping? I wonder why you ask...

I have sold several websites at Flippa. It's a great system for anyone wanting to buy/sell a site. I don't know if I'd call what I did flipping as all the sites I have sold there I owned and operated for a year or more.

Blog Flipping is creating a blog, adding content and posts making it to be indexed by Google. When the blog gets a good authority, page rank and crawl frequency selling it for a good price.

Blog flipping is a great way to showcase your ability as an expert in the online industry. Through blog flipping, optimizers and website developers are challenged as up to how competitive they can be. Buying a blog site, innovating it and making it more attractive and reselling it is another feature and advantage of the fast growing online industry. Additionally, this is one way of knowing if a web developer or optimizer is a reputable one or just simply a spammer.
