Google keyword: Chinese Supermarket Edinburgh
It happened 3 days ago. I did website and essential SEO work on Google for a
a Chinese stores in Edinburgh. The website Huaxing chinese supermarket was on top of google for 1 week and half with the above keywords. I can't find the website now.
the top 2 links are yell and a directory website.

The shop was still listed on the area for local business on the first page of google, but bear in mind, there are only about 10 chinese stores in Edinburgh.

I have checked and don't think the 2 on the top did big improvement. Only thing I suppose is google changed something, which is hard to understand.

Any suggestions please?

Not enough information to even guess. How long was the site ranked at the top?

    You could have lost links.
You might have made a change to the site that impacted ranking.
If it was fairly new, the site could have been experiencing QDF and didn't deserve the high ranking in the first place.
You might have been seeing personalized search results.
You might have thrown a bunch of low quality links at it that caused a drop.
The host may have experienced significant downtime that caused the ranking to drop.
Some change might have been made that is causing Google to have crawling problems on the site.

And about 50 other reasons that could have caused it....

      1. about 10 days as mentioned on the post, about 3 days ago, it changed.
      2. it's not personalized search results, i have checked on other computers other place.
      3. it's one page website, wouldn't have crawling problem
      4. I did SEO and knew what I did so no low quality links
      5. QDF: query deserves freshness, it could be the case after I read some related articles, but I was still not fully understood. it could be i created some new contents for a new website, Google picked it up and put it on the top, now, the contents got older, google damped it. is it right?
      6. 50 other reasons, it sounds too complex.

Could it be: too many backlinks that say "Chinese Supermarket Edinburgh." This can garner you a 'phrase-based penalty.'

      Thanks for your encourage.
      1. I don't think others have seek for seo experts' advise. it's less competitive market (only 10 in Edinburgh)
      2. The PR for the website is 2/10 (didn't change), traffic (Alex) is increasing to 3,668,000. It appears no penalty applied to it.
      3. I tried SERP tools nowhere it couldn't be found in Google

it's very new, less than a month. What "suddenly stop" means? did you mean the website I build inbound links to stop these links, or google stoped it?

On 26th July 2012, about the time when my No1's gone , no records on my google analytic accounts, could it mean Google did update on that day?

I don't think that Google stop the links, also as you mention no record in your Google analytic yet, did you check Google webmaster account ? as you know Google did update webmaster tool that now showing links to your site much faster then used to be also you can download latest links including date when Google discover the links...

The shop is at the top on local search results (keywords: Chinese Supermarket Edinburgh), it was the second. However I couldn't see the web site on search results page. It has just proved one point: back links, which I have been using for Bay of Bengal Indian Restaurant Edinburgh to improve its rankings.

From my reading, it suggests that Google search results move up and down, but keep building backlinks and contents. The website disappeared on SERPs just after penguin was in place. I suppose they could be the reason now. Again, thanks for all replies.

PS: There are only about 7 Chinese Supermarket in Edinburgh.

Since you mentioned that the competition is very less for your keyword and you have Quality backlinks built, It has to be a Google Dance.Your ranking will be back in a while.
