What is the recommended number of links back to my money site per page from an external site?

    There's no magic number.
    Not sure exactly what you are asking. Is it per page,
    or site? Links per page water the PR down.

    If you mean link diversity, that's completely overrated.
    Just look at the sig links here. A person with 1,000 posts
    and a sig link, has a potential of 1,000 backlinks from
    the WF. And I don't see anyone worrying.

    Too many people take myths, or at best, loose SEO like
    link diversity. It not about link diversity. There's nothing
    magic about link diversity. It's about link worth. 1,000
    links from the WF, same link, is worth far more than 1,000
    links on a 1,000 different sites/pages that are junk. On the
    other hand, 1 link on a high PR, relevant, contextual,
    on an authoritative site, is worth far more than 1,000 of
    the above examples. Buzzwords like linkdiversity should be
    banned.

    agree with above and remember the higher the PR which is relevant to your niche far outweighs 1000 of low PR not relevant.

    I was asking about the maximum number of links per external page.

    Example: In the past with the (not so private) Private Blog Networks such as BMR, ALN, UAW, you can only put 2 links back to the money site per article (times have changed. You shouldn't be doing that now).

    Is 2 links back to the money site per article (or page) the optimal number? What about 3, 4, 5?
