Affiliate Sites And Adwords!!

Okay so i am interested in affiliate marketing but am finding it extremely hard to get my ads approved by google.
They always come back with a message of violation of "user safety" but do not specify whether this is down to my ad or website. I have repeatedly tried to contact them but have got no reply.
When looking at other ads they seem to be similar to mine so im assuming it must be the website.

In that case my question is what sort of things can you not advertise? i mean is a sales page directly linked to a clickbank checkout page not acceptable in googles eyes and if not what can i do to make this acceptable?

Many Thanks,

Cal

As I said in my other post, MSN adcenter/7 search is way more friendlier towards affiliate marketing than adwords is.

As im new to the whole affiliate marketing scene, i find it useful that i can use the adwords coupon to try everything out and get used to it, this was something that attracted me to adwords. As far as im aware theres nothing like that available for those 2 although im sure they are both very good.

Is there any way i can get around being able to link my webpage to a clickbank or other order procesing site directly? i mean its not like im even linking to a sales pitch as all the sales material i have wre written and am merely linking to a checkout page, i don't see why google wold frown upon this. Any idea anybody?

Adwords historically hates affiliates and regularly go on account termination spree's

What would be a far better approach is to change your lander to generate/capture leads and then market the affiliate offers to them while building a list of repeat customers for life.

      Hi,
Of course you can promote affiliate offers on Adwords ! But it is a bit tricky. You need to throw there your own unique content, maybe some education multimedia content in presentation format, some embedded videos, some user interactivity like commenting, fb likes, maybe forum etc. Also take care you have in footer your contact page, privacy policy, disclaimer etc.

In general be careful not to include lot of affiliate links (1-2 max on a page). And be careful what you claim on your site, don't go crazy with false statements of instant riches after purchasing your product etc. etc.

Clickbank is a haven for scammers, and Adwords folks know it and don't like them since most of their products are nothing else but an utter trash.

Besides Adwords, try maybe MSN Adcenter, Facebook but stay away from 7search which is a crap traffic source.

This is what I did at http://www.flexiblefatburn.com/5-foods-not-to-eat/

I created my own landing/squeeze page, which then redirects the user to the actual affiliate site if they were to sign up.. but it still cannot work. why?

I'm not familiar with the current Adwords policies because I haven't used it at least one year (when I was banned ).

However, to me your landing page is exactly what Google hates. Just an opt-in form and very little information (no value for the visitors). What's even worse, there's a pop-up when trying to leave the site.

edit: You are also "forcing" your visitors to sign up before they are able see the video (and get the information they are looking for). This is definitely against Adwords policy!

Most clickbank products are rubish products anyway. If I was google I would disallow the ad as well.

I have created an ad on google with a direct affiliate link to a hosting company. They approved the ad and I had no problems at all.

This will work and then lead to your account termination :-)

Read the Webmaster Guidelines - that landing page will eventually get you in trouble with Bing.

That site is a what NOT to do if you want to run campaigns.
        1. No popups (exit or otherwise)
        2. There is no real offer with any sort of uniqueness
        3. No contact page, about us, privacy policy, terms of use, etc
        4. No linking at the bottom to any sort of other real content.
        5. Barely any content on that page anyway. Your QS for that would be a 1-2 nearly across the board if it ran at all. I don't think it would get that far.

That's just off the top of my head. That's the reason why people say Google hates affiliates is that they setup a page like that and aren't able to run. That type of page is the quickest way to get banned. Ask yourself if you went to that site if you would feel comfortable with the offer or giving your information. Think of it as building a real business. Not just scraping together a cash cow.

Because you are redirecting to the affiliate sales page. That's called a bridge page and you can't do that. It's all in the friendly rules and guidelines. You also have popups which is not allowed.

Like its already been mentioned here, Adwords dislikes Affiliate marketers. It's pretty normal to hear affiliate marketers being suspended from adwords once or more times.

Direct linking with affiliate links from Adwords is frowned upon and should be avoided.

On the other hand, Adwords to a useful information site, which has an affiliate link on where to buy the product if the visitor is interested is very much legitimate. Don't go overboard, the idea is to add value rather than sell.

    These sites are mostly aggregators.

What Google will swiftly ban your AdWords a/c for are directly linking to affiliate sites. Try running an ad for a ClickBank affiliate page and see how long your account lasts!

I've already run tons of campaigns for my own Amazon sites. Sure, the fist few were difficult to get approved but once I knew what the AdWords team was looking for, I very rarely (if ever) have problems whenever I setup a campaign.

      Repeat after me:

Google does not hate affiliate sites. Google hates "crappy" affiliate sites.

Thank you. Google does not hate affiliates. They hate the guys that are not building a business but are just looking to make quick cash. Those people don't care about Google's searchers so they don't provide good content with a unique offer. They try to copy everyone elses pages and campaigns. That's why they don't like you. I've had a 5 figure (profit per day) affiliate business without any issues. In fact, I have my own rep and they know and could care less that I'm an affiliate. They DO NOT hate affiliates. They just want you to be a responsible marketer.

To add on to what the others are saying - I would say that you can do AdWords with an affiliate site but be careful.

AdWords is not where you learn PPC. It's where you go when you've already tackled 7Searhc, Bing etc...
