Just blasting them will surely have a negative impact. Why dont you spread your links throughout the week. I know on a website hitting it with hundreds of links will surely damamge it. Please spread them around and have a variety of them. Let me know, I can hook you up.

I'll disagree here only because I know that blasting videos works. And works well. I generally HATE blasting a site with links, but I do it from time-to-time with YouTube videos. I've seen plenty of success on the videos that I've pointed Scrapebox blasts at. And they're still going strong 8 months later.

Though I mix it up and mainly point DoFollow links at them. (10,000 DoFollow instead of 100,000 NoFollow, for example.)

Again, I'd never point these types of links at my own site. But from my experience it seems to work well with YT videos.

Do you know if AMR blasts are any good for improving YT video rankings? I ask because I don't own Scrapebox.

Not sure. I've only tried it with Scrapebox. And even then I do it with mainly dofollow links.

It's pretty easy to get Youtube videos to rank in the SERPS. You can build links to them a lot more aggressively than new domains. Don't forget you have control of a lot of the on page elements of your video as well and can push up the word count with a decent sized description and so forth.

Good tips there from JSProjects. Worst case scenario, you can always repost the vid on a new account

blasting a video with a few hundred links is not going to have any effect because youtube is so big

new videos get shared every single day and get thousands of back links within days so if you were to add a lot of links to your video it would only have a positive impact, this is what i have found through my testing anyway

I'm still getting results. Though the key is making sure you're not going after incredibly hard keywords. Or keywords that already have a ton of videos. But I've used SB to help rank plenty of videos with 10,000+ "exact" match searches.

Within the past week I've noticed some of my videos which I only send max 5 links per day to are slipping big time in the YT SERP's. It's weird, I have both a private blog network and a public one and it's not just the videos from the private or the public. Matter of fact, both have improved and some have decreased?

Anyone hear or read anything about a Google YT video slap or update?

I'm thinking that Google is placing a larger emphasis in views, comments, etc, in addition to backlinks.

Share them on multiple social networking websites and try to generate traffic from social media website, as views counts as positive factor in ranking of youtube video.

I think it's more important to rank in YouTube's internal search than in Google SERPs. Both is nice, but ranking in YT search is totally relevant and on-target.

True, to an extent. If I'm trying to rank a "best shoes for running" (random example) video I'd rather it rank high in the Google search results. Since I'd guess that more people would enter this type of search into Google & not Youtube. That said, videos that rank high in the SERPS tend to rank high in YT as well.

It's okay because Youtube is considered as an authority site by Google. This is why it is better to begin with Youtube instead of setting up your own site. When you build backlinks to it, it can get ranked overnight depending on the competition.

Just don't completely rely on it. But you're right. If you're just starting and want to see quicker results it's generally easier to do so by leveraging the authority of another site. (YouTube, Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogspot, whatever.)

It will not affect the YouTube ranking positively as YouTube is an authority site that cannot be affected easily.

Actually, it is usually the opposite. Since YT is such a massive authority it's EASIER to rank a video than it would be to rank a random page.

yeah man to have your youtube videos rank well, the most important thing is user comments and views and how long they actually watch your videos. Blasting your vid with backlinks is spam and will punish your rankings. Better to play bu the rules and produce content that people actually want to watch.

In my experience this hasn't really been true as far as ranking in the search engines. I rank a lot of videos in Google and they seem to prefer the ones that are optimized in the title, description, tags, and even the filename - even if they've got fewer views / comments than other videos. (Which may not be optimized as well.)

On YouTube itself Google does seem to put a bit more of an emphasis on comments, views, etc.

Focusing on long keyword phrases has work for my customers very well. These videos get ranked very well assuming you're getting comment activity, likes and links consistently. The results will come in, just be careful not to spam the heck of YT because it's not your moneypage if you want to have the title keyword rank at the first page of Google. Has worked great with long tail key-phrases on my end.

I am ranking YouTube videos for moderate competition keywords using SPAM. Stuff works. The key is finding domains with high levels of trust, like YouTube, that can take the heat. So, yes, if done correctly you can achieve a positive effect on YouTube video rankings by blasting backlinks.

Google typically shows only 1 or 2 youtube videos on page 1 for a keyword. So if there is a video already ranking you will need to overpower it before your video will even show up. Build links from domains with high authority. It will allow you to rank high in the SERPs without the need of blasting links.
