Hey guys,

I have a couple of questions I'd like your opinion on regarding traffic and SEO.

In all, I think traffic strategies can be divided into three categories:
1. Direct advertising (things like mingling in forums, doing some "conversational" marketing, also guest blogging might be another example)
2. Free / SEO
3. Paid

I'd like your opinion on the following questions:

1. Would you consider promotion using multiple methods, or would you only use only one of the above for any one project?

2. In the context of SEO, would you consider using automated software like SEOLinkVine, Bookmark Demon, SEMRush, Traffic Kaboom, SENuke - do these actually produce the results they claim they do (high rankings in short periods of times), or do you prefer to spread it out over a period of time and do these manually or outsource them?

3. How do you distinguish between SEO and "driving traffic"? Do you use SEO to drive traffic or do you drive traffic while using SEO as an aspect to boost traffic? Are these interchangeable? I ask this because many times over, gurus say "don't rely on search engine traffic...diversify your traffic sources", yet the majority of traffic to websites still come from search engines, and not Facebook or Youtube, regardless of how times change. Also, I have rarely seen a traffic course that doesn't mention SEO.

4. Therefore, last of all, when driving traffic, do you write articles, create videos, generally, create content that targets search engines or humans? Which is more important?

Thanks for your input!

Cheers,
Baggio.

    Question #1

The more the merrier of course you're only holding yourself back by choosing only one. This being said don't drop $500 on a PPC budget if you don't know how well your website converts.

    Question #2

Both work very well if you know what you're doing. But using the tools and learning yourself will definitely save you money in the long run.

    Question #3

I definitely use SEO to drive traffic. I do social marketing and the likes as well but with the keywords I usually choose nothing will be as fruitful as that #1 spot on Google.

    Question #4

Humans... Your website won't convert well unless you're targeting those humans

    1. I would consider promoting using multiple methods..

    2. Every automated application which you see there will surely give you results if it is used in a proper way & Spreading links to several days and not creating too many links in a short way..

    3. There is two kinds of SEO, one is On-site and other is Off-site SEO.. If you have a optimized On-site SEO along with quality backlinks you will be able to Ranking in Google Search engine which will lead to increase in traffic to your site.

    4. You need to 1st decide what kind of website you wanna make or ur niche.. Depending upon which you will write content make videos and so on..

Lots of questions all wrapped into one. I'll just answer it at a high level otherwise it will become a book.

All of the different ways to drive traffic are valid and should be used. Its all going to come down to which ones to focus on and in what order of priority. Also, there is the costs and resources factors. Will it just be you working on the traffic generation methods or do you have the ability to hire someone or get support or purchase services.

Foundationally you will need to get started on the right niche, with the right keyword research and do the proper on-page SEO. Then go after other traffic sources once your foundation is set properly. Bottom line go after as many traffic sources you can and quickly as you can all dependent on your resources.

    To answer your questions:

    1. I would only use one traffic source until I master it and make it working. Of course, if you are already ranking for all your desired keywords in the SERPs at number 1, you can diverse and look for other traffic generation methods in order to get even more traffic.

    2. It depends on how you use them. The softwares for link profile creation, for example, are completely worthless these days - These links don't amount to anything. They might only help you index first-tier links, but even this function is questionable.

If you use a software in an intelligent way, for example, to create unique-content backlinks, you can do that, of course.

    3. SEO is a way of getting traffic, simple as that. The only purpose of doing SEO is to get traffic - why else would you want to rank in the SERPs in the first place?

    4. You should write your content in a way so it's valuable for real people and written for the search engines as well.
