I would greatly appreciate help on an issue that has recently come up.

I want to have TWO adsense accounts, 1 personal, and 1 for business. Adsense Policy allows this, yet many forums say I can get flagged, what is the best way to proceed without the risk of getting flagged and shut down later on?

You have to be careful, because the payee needs to be different.

They are ridiculous about banning accounts, so PLEASE be as careful as you can.

      Thank you for responding.

Perhaps I should have been more specific. the 'payee' name is different. One account will be under my personal name, the other will be under my business name.

so... given that one is my name, other is business name. Can I use my social for both, or do I need to get an EIN (tax ID number) for my business?

      Thank you

Google suggests very strongly that there is no reason to
have 2 accounts. Just because they "allow" what seems
to be two, personal and business, does not mean they
        take kindly to it.

It is my understanding, and my understanding only, that
everything needs to be different. Address, phone, tax id,
payee, etc. If not, they most likely kick it back because of
        matching accounts.

The only real reason for having two accounts is in case
one gets banned. Oh sure, you'll probably hear a lot of
people jumping on the "oh I have 2 accounts..." cargo
        train.

What other people do should never be of concern to
protecting your own interests, especially with an
        adsense account.

My personal vote would be, don't do it.

You can technically just turn your personal account into
your business account by changing the payee to your
business, if you must. Besides, in the US, you make money
on adsense, it's really "business" income requiring a schedule
C tax form anyway. Most people do not have a real
"personal" adsense account when it comes right down to it.

          Thanks for responding,
Alas I'm in a bit of jam here.
I started my first account on a hobby website, and while the revenue has been ridiculously low, the account exists with my personal information.
I opened a new account which I linked to youtube, already have over $100 but the payment is on hold because I haven't entered any tax information.

Taking the advice given here, am I able to cancel 1 account in order to use the same information for the second account? (the revenue is already there, just waiting on the input of personal information)
