$10,000 Month? Close But No Cigar!

My partner and I almost made it to 5 figures last month. Between adsense, selling sites, and affiliate sales we hit just over $9k.

So what is there to take from this? Help your community! Most people are obsessed with making money for themselves and building businesses on their own, and they don't realize that if they only took a little time to help out the community, then it pays them back in the end.

When we give away free info, we expect nothing back in return. If people want to help out by going through our affiliates, then they do... if not, they don't... no big deal.

What this ends up doing is building a healthy community, free of scams and all the other BS that many other internet marketers are choosing to do. Best of all... we sleep well at night knowing we're not greedy jerks.

Thank you for being kind enough to share your experiences for free, I really do appreciate it. Good luck with all of your online endeavors. Also I've heard you say that you've had problems building amazon sites or finding the right keywords, just go after product based search terms, to me adsense seems to work best for informational sites, while amazon does well with physical items.

I found a ton of keywords where all the marketers before me must have backlinked there way to oblivion, because these terms are super easy to rank, yet have high search volume. All the sites with emd had bad link profiles and were ugly as hell, now there nowhere to be found.

Yea, eventually we'll get down to fine tuning our amazon income, but for now, we've just been a little busy.

Thanks Joshpat! We really do appreciate that. I'm about halfway through the backlinking tutorial. I wanted to release it a couple days ago, but had to push it back due to some other things i've been working on.

Hey ezzy, thanks for the support. I started listening to Pat Flynn, and I realized "that's what I want!... a business where you can do what you love, help others, and feel good about what you do,". If you haven't heard of Pat Flynn, his blog is definitely worth the read and his podcast is one of my favorites on the internet.

As somebody who is already there I will agree that you speak the truth.

In internet marketing you will only begin to make money when you start focusing on THEIR NEEDS and not yourself.

Think of how you can help/benefit your clients, site visitors, partners, and associates and the money will follow. Focus only on yourself and you will fail miserably.

Congrats on your success, and good luck and may you hit your goal soon.

I'm probably on my computer about 10 hours a day or so. Most of it is spent reading and learning new ideas. Lately though, much of that time has been spent building tutorials.

Cudos Mosa - it's not everyday I see a post in here like yours! Thank you. This just gave me a dose of adrenalin to keep going the way I'm going and not focus on the monetizing aspect of the many hours put into offering an info service that's intended to help.

I really look forward to see/read/buy your tutorial. Will you let us know when you are done?

@ kvnkane - seriously! Why do you even bother commenting. Move on to the next post! How many posts do you seen in here without the sig. The beauty is that you just don't click it. What's the big deal. Share some value next time will ya

Congrats. That 5 figure mark is probably the biggest one on a monthly basis! I agree with giving back. Even if your focus is only on your own interests, giving back can definitely help with networking, at the very least.

Wow, this was brought back from a month ago, huh? haha.

Anyway, still didn't make it this past month. And yes, helping out the community is mutually beneficial.

Some people get flack for helping out the community because people say that they're in it for themselves... but if you think about it, the other option is to not help anyone and be in it for yourself. So why not do both and make a difference

There are people openly making a lot more than that. And i'm not talking about your typical WSO creator who randomly comes out of nowhere claiming to have made millions. Bloggers like Pat Flynn of smartpassiveincome.com utilize transparent business models and share their journey for all to see.

He does share how he built his site. I believe his security site has been ranking for a couple years and makes a couple grand every month. I think his most notable income comes from his main blog though where he makes over $20k/month on the bluehost affiliate system alone.

I think you missed my point, click that link in my last comment & have a look at that screenshot & the BH affiliate redirects in the SERPs.

Nice catch. Never trust a guy who claims that 'being transparent' is his only goal in life

Wait - don't a lot of people do redirects like that for affiliate income? Seems to be a standard practice. For instance, Discount – WSOTesters | Long Tail Pro. Maybe he just made a mistake in allowing the page to get indexed?
