Reasons why Google hate your site

I'll make it short

1. When Google finds out that people are leaving your site without visiting other pages (high bounce rate), it will give your site a negative point.

2. When Google finds out that people are leaving your site almost immediately after your site is loaded - another negative point.

3. When Google finds out that there are too many irrelevant links pointing to your site - another negative point.

4. When Google finds out that your content has a lot of similar copies online - another negative point.

Google loves your site if your reader loves your site. Google is like human. Its just following your visitors. So, if you want Google to love your site, create content that your visitors love to read, make them stay on your site, and even visiting your other pages..... That's how simple but effective way on how to get Google's respect. It's not about thousands of backlinks delivered by spam software.

I completely agree on you, Adie. These realizations are good reminders for all of us.
Do you know any WordPress plugin that can measure 'bounce rate?'

I think everything is available inside Google analytics....

How is #3 point related to #4? I guess #3 is pointing out about gateway sites while #4 refers to low quality copied contents sites.

Great stuff Adie. Great content = great user experience = great rankings.

Of course, backlinks do play a crucial role, but having great content and well on-page-optimised site is the foundation on which you can build your off-page SEO strategy.

I would add to point 4 - It's not really a bad thing if your content is copied all over the Internet, BUT you should always make sure that the content is first indexed on your site, so that Google knows that you are the owner of the content.

If your content gets syndicated, there's nothing you could do about it. If you are syndicating the content yourself, make sure to always link to the original source, that's another signal to Google that you are the owner of the content.

Google is investing into machine learning, no doubt.

However, Google has said that they don't use WMT/GA data as apart of their search index.

Personally, I think that anchor text diversity (LSI + LSA) is way more important.

    Lets clarify:

Points 1+2 are the same point. Having a high bounce rate will not get you a "negative point" whatever that is.

Point 3. Irrelevant links have no negative effect whatsoever. You may mean "bad neighbourhood" links, but I suspect you just mean unreleated content.

    4. Not true at all, it depends on if Google decides you are the original content in terms of its indexing and even then syndication is totally legitimate.

So out of four points, four are wrong and there is no such thing as a "negative point".

So why on earth are people saying it's a good post???

If Mike Anthony rips him a new one, then for once I completely agree with him. Hopefully it will make people stop and think before drinking up such nonsense.

Umm....NO. I have one site that has a super high bounce rate, people are there for literally 30 seconds or less. And yet my traffic is going up and up and up and up and up and up! (Yes I'm trying to fix that lol!).

Anyways, I see you're from the land of a thousand islands. Hope you're ok! They got a crazy flood going on there. (My fam is from there).

I don't agree with the bounce rate #1 and #2. It's a very poor metric and would encourage all sort of malicious tactics

    Matt Cutts even said so:

I completely agree. It's seems so simple and all you really need is traffic that hangs it seems now.
