I want to build backlink for my URL. Submitting URL to different directories is time consuming and it takes longer time to get approved and there are several companies that offer Directory Submission with very low cost. Is it worth to pay to those companies for this service ? Has anyone done this before?

        Paid directories will deliver assured BL and some link juice but from free directory hard to get approved and also after approved the link page go inside sub cat..those pages will take time to index and if indexed the value will be very less.
        So if u share more about ur site like traffic , age niche, links etc will be good

    Directory submission are still helpful just ensure you submit to both low and high pr site and spread the submissions over a few days and diversify your keywords..

    Avoid mass directory submissions. Nothing good will come of it.

    For general directories, stick with Yahoo, DMOZ, Business.com and maybe BOTW. If your site is the software one in your signature, there's several directories and resource indexes you can get yourself listed on that are specific to your industry.

    Yes, it's time consuming (and costly in some cases). But nothing worth getting is easy.
