Different Ranking in google.com?hl=de and google.de after Penguin

Hi all,

I noticed something strange. One of my sites got hit by penguin and dropped from page 1 to page 2 or 3 in google.de (it's a german site). It keeps bouncing back to page 1 about every 2 week and stays there for about 1 week until it falls back.

Now I noticed that on google.com/?hl=de the site never fell of page one and still has it's regular ranking.

To me that looks strange. Any info on that and what I could do to bring it back on google.de permanently?

Thanks

Tino

    To be honest with you I thought it was-

    google.com/?gl=de

    But I see hl=de does return the german Google.

    Weird =/

    It doesn't sound like your site is a victim of Penguin though if that is how its behaving, have a closer look at the reason it dropped.

    Any idea what the reason for the drop could be? The only difference I noticed between google.com/?hl=de and goodle.de is that google.de is using localization and google.com/?hl=de seems not to. google.de in fact has a bunch of local search results on many keywords.

    But I didn't make any changes prior to that update. I'd just like to get back on page one of course since it's a nationwide business..
