It will only help mine since much of my competition consists of scraped content. However, unless there are Copyright complaints, it won't really matter.

I'm going to assume that merchants don't spend too much time chasing scraped content so it may not matter much come to think of it.

    Some pretty interesting stuff.

If you can ethically justify negative SEO on this kind of a scale then this is great news.

But for the rest of us, watch out!

It has nothing to do with anyone who does not deal with file
sharing, as I pointed out in the OTHER thread. It's about
PIRACY! You people need to get a grip. It's one of 200
      or more signals.

So, if your site is into piracy of movies, music, etc., you
should be worried. If you are, you're in the wrong place.

I'm not worried a bit. I don't deal in piracy.

      Funny thing. Google exempts youtube.com.
Not really funny. What's funny is that google would
even hint that youtube is part of any real algorithm.
      Fat chance on that.

Lets see how long it takes for Youtube/Google to replace the Amazon/Itunes affiliate links under most music videos with G-Play.

I imagine those affiliate links will slowly fade away as Google brings in the music industry partners & gets a better deal.

How different is this from Copyscape and other similar services? Of course they don't enforce copyright infringements. Only Google is in the best position to do so. But how can Google circumvent the legal process required to enforce copyright infringements?
