Similar sites in same account hurt SEO?

Anyone have insight into this?

I've got several similar micro niche sites, but each with it's own unique content. They are in the same Hostgator account. In one case, I've got the same url, but one in .net and one in .com. I'm wondering if Google will penalize the sites, because they are so similar and in the same account? If so, then I need to migrate some into a/some different account(s).

    I have read many opinions on this. The only negative I have read is with google accounts. For instance if you have 30 blogs through google and you back link each blog to each other then your blogs will not hold weight.

    Being that you have different websites with different urls, and your sites each have unique content that will not hurt as far as ranking. But I would not link them to each other, to be safe.

    I know many gurus who do use different hosting companies because they have many many websites. Kind of like the old saying dont put all your eggs in one basket.

    i don't think so if it just a little, but i think it will be good if you get backlink from different IP
